When my hair started to get too long, I decided a brush would work better than just my fingers... generally I haven't used much of brushes *or* combs in the past, since they hadn't done much but make my hair look sillier. That means basically my whole experience owning a brush amounts to the last two months or so.
And now the little rubber tips at the end of the brush are starting to chip and break off. So two questions:
1) Is this something that normally happens with brushes after a couple months, and I just need to buy a new one, or did I just get a really cheap brush and I should get one that costs more than $3 next time?
2) Do I really need those little tips? Is there a problem with my just continuing to use this brush after all the tips are gone?
Thanks to anyone with insight :)
You can pay a little more for a brush, but I doubt that it will last much longer. You really do need those little tips, because without them the tines will scratch your head pretty bad. Just be careful not to hit those tips on anything hard, or they will break off really fast.

Don't use a brush with the round tips...they're not good for long hair!
What type of brush would you suggest?
They work really well and last a long time.
