I'm sick of it... The longer it gets the oiler it gets. I'm only in my 9th month and my hair gets oily for a day! Let's say I wash it on Tuesday, it will look great after I wash it, another 6 hours make it look normal and then the next day is like a saucepan.
I tried washing it less often (currently I shampoo&condition it every other day but that's because I can't stand it). I'll try this time really seriously. I haven't washed it since Saturday and won't do it until Tuesday. After that I'll wait till Saturday and observe the results. Do shampoos for oily hair help? Please, help.
PS: At least I found out 2 months ago the CO wash is not an option for me LOL it just gets greasier
There are several people on here who wash their hair everyday due to problems such as yours. I am one; if I go more than a day my hair looks terrible.
Each person has to find what is right for them.
Hey thanks for replying. Well I'll see for myself, first i'll try with a few experiments and if nothing works i'll resort to washing at least every other day :)
Have you tried skipping the conditioner? A friend of mine has long hair (straight, somewhere between mid back and shoulder blade length) and washes it daily with shampoo and NO conditioner. She still complains about it being prone to getting oily sometimes, but the routine seems to be working for her. Her hair looks great.
Might be worth a shot. I would assume you'd just have to be a bit more careful with detangling since conditioner helps with that.

You got me thinking and I've actually been wondering if conditioner could be the problem. I think I use way too much of it but I'm not sure. Tomorrow Ill try to use little of it but still can't try without it because first I'll try out washing less often. Thanks for the hint though!
Hello grrr,
I had the same problem some time ago...
I'm using no conditioner at the moment (every 2-3 weeks, I think).
When you don't wash out the conditioner completly - you said you use much of it - you hair will look oily after a few hours.
Try to wash your hair with shampoo only, it helped me ;)
Could it be an uneven distribution (rather than an over-production) of your natural oils? Have you tried brushing down the oils using a boar-bristle brush. Youi've got straight enough hair for it. Just make sure it's dry before you start.

I sure hear you on this one. When I was around your age I also had the "oil-problem." Sometimes I even washed twice a day! It will diminish however in time.
Funny, because collecting and repairing antique clocks has been a hobby of mine since 12 years old. One time after cleaning a clock works I discovered there was no clock oil left. I actually used the oil from my hair and where it collected on either side of the nose.........and the clock ran non-stop for almost 5 years before needing to be oiled again. Everyone in my family really laughed at that one. Me too!
