Well in highschool my senior year during the last couple months of school I had someone break into my locker and steal my jacket, as well as the ipod in it. Crappy school security guards who open the locker for anyone who says they "forgot their combination". 8 months later I finally got a new one...
And so today at college on my walk from one building to the next I reach into my pocket and feel around for my gloves... thats when I notice my right pocket is open and empty. I always keep my ipod in that pocket and hardly ever take it out. So im freaking out but I say... well I must've just put it on the kitchen table the night before. Anyway, I finish all my classes and get home, and search EVERYWHERE. After searching all the normal places I check the trash, the refrigerador, cabinet under the bathroom sink. Nothing. I had given up and embraced the thought that someone was walking around listening to my obscure black metal bands with an ipod that has MY name engraved on the back. I imagined some kid with his grubby fingers getting the screen all greased up...
I did the only thing I could... I went on google to read stories about other people who lost their ipods. Now it was pretty cold today in nyc below 10 degrees without windchill. So I was wearing my hoodie indoors (my room gets no heat). Thats when I remembered the night before I had been wearing my 'indoor' jacket instead of my hoodie. I ran back into my room grabbed the jacket and... YES MY IPOD WAS IN THERE!
I can't tell you I've never been more happy over something that didn't even happen. I know one thing... I'm never bringing this ipod outside again.
Haha, good story. I'm glad things worked out. Losing 300 bucks like that would stink.

well I teach music and it sure beats lugging around the dozens of educational CDs I'd need to get through a day. Anyway, some 7 year old (who was told to sit down I don't remember how many times) decided he'd do the ultimate infraction and run up and start playing with my iPod while I was at the other side of the class with some students.
He then DROPPED it onto the tile floor.
and now...
It won't connect to iTunes, it wont turn on...all I get is this symbol when I try to force a reboot:

Happened to me too, onyl it was with my cellphone. It happened like 3 or 4 times until i REALLY got it stolen lmao.

i heard about a program for ipods today on the radio that you can use in case someone steals them
it send you there ip address and user name and there address where it is when someone plugs it in to a usb port
haven't looked it up but sounds cool for all the kids getting them stolen in school
it was on late night talk radio with george ? maybe some one knows his last name as i didn't catch it sorry

Apple Ipods are registed Online as there is a number on the back of it you have to use to register it though Itunes so if the personnel details are the same though itunes you cant use the ipod to download the software need to add MP3 or MP4 to your ipod .
