I need to find a way to get out of a jam. I was asked to be on a st baldrick team next year. St Baldrick is a wonderful charity that gives money to help fight childhood caNCcer. The only thing is that you need to have your head shaved for raising the moiney.
The team is hoping with my hair being long by St Patricks day next year they can get good money from one of their sponsors. I do believe and I have donated to this one other time but I dont want to get my hair cut short after growing it out. I was hoping maybe if I raise enough money without cutting my hair if it would help. Suggestions please
Rich
Don't cut your hair, you took so long to get where you are now. Giving to charity is terrific if you are so inclined, but it has nothing to do with your hair. Get out of thi St Baldricks thing and if you want to give money do so. If you like to be involved in getting other people to give you money for something you do, do a walk a thon or something else. Giving of yourself does not mean cutting part of yourself off.
I hope you reconsider and don't do this thing. You will regret it.
I know I will I have a year to get out of it . I am going to try raise money doing something else in lieu of the haircut .
Hey

St Baldrick is a charity ive read on Buzzboard set up to raise money though having your head shaved to help Children with Cancer I personal agree it is a wonderful charity but you can raise the money though different ways to help the charity like a sponsored swim or not talking a word for one full week the ideas are endless !

Why don't you get sponsors to donate on a month to month basis for all the time that you don't get a haircut; say max of 36 months. Even get some others to do it; call it the Retro 70's Challenge. Just think if you raised more than the head shaving group!
I don't think its all about the money. I think its for kids, who have lost their hair. They make wigs from the hair. But I didn't think you had to shave your head.
