So here we are in March and this is my 10th month of growing. If you've been over to my site lately, you may have noticed that I went a bit nuts with the camera work over the past few days. Next week is my Spring Break and I will not be around to post on the 12th, so without further ado, I present to you a collage of the best of this week's photos...
Taken on Saturday morning, shortly before departing on a random roadtrip to southern Kentucky with my best friend Keyonna...
The back length and showing off the waviness...
A couple days later and you can see how much straighter my hair becomes when I don't wash it...
And then there's today, with A HALF-TAIL!!!
The back length again...
Sad? Cranky? Confused? No, just a pouty-cute face. lol!
And then there's good ol' happy me. =D
There are a bunch more photos on my site, so please take a look. That's what they're there for, after all. =)
-James
Lovely set of photos. The one from the back really shows off the thickness of your hair, and the highlights in the half-tail pic are great! Just think, every month a little bit more is going to fit into the ponytail binder.
Mouse
Thanks for the kind compliments, Mouse! =)
Hey
James
Your update makes up for Simon loss of his long locks of hair your starting to look like a longhaired guy and you will start getting comments from people asking you when you getting it cut lol and that is when you know that your are considered by some as your hair is to long ignore time sets in then.
Your hair itself looking awesome that is in sound condition I also notice you are already a fan of wearing a ponytail as ive notice you post a couple of pictures of you wearing them lol you cant wait i know !
Axel
Heh, thanks, Axel. I actually already have people asking when I'll cut it (most recently my father...), but I've also had girls asking for permission to braid it. =D
-James
James
The Girls lol you will have a pick out the best looking girl with the great personalitally will make a great conversation for you to ask her out on a date but being realistically your hair isnt long enough for a braid as yet, A decent size Ponytail or Halftail comes first before you can braid.
As for your Father sounds like he doesnt approve of your hair being long something my Father( Mine use to like mine Short Back & Sides Tapercut length ) as never approved either just change the subjected onto something different when he asks you that question again !
Axel
Looks great James, I can see that you will be blessed with nice wavy hair.
Thank you very much, Chris! =)
That is a lot of nice pictures James :) I think your hair does look better with the waves in it so I would wash it often as it looks great that way. I really like the way the color shows in your pics. Great progress and I hope you enjoy the road trip.
Thanks a lot, Chris! The roadtrip was a blast, mainly due to its complete spontaneity... no change of clothes, no toiletries, nothing! Thankfully it was just an overnight trip. =)
Hope you feel better!
-James
Hey, James!
Looking great as usual. Your hair seems to grow pretty quick. I noticed your hair looks a bit drier and wavier than usual... Change shampoo brands or washing routine?
Thanks, Chris! I've been washing it a little more frequently (every 3 days or so), mainly because I workout a lot and I think my scalp has begun producing more oils lately, so my hair tends to get rather greasy if I don't. I just started using sweet almond oil, so hopefully it'll curb some of the dryness that results from the extra washing.
Swweeet!!
The length is especially apparent fromt the back.
Good work, my fellow 10-month, keep it growing!
Congrats!
Shawn (Mr.Crow)
Hey, thanks a bunch, Shawn! Your curls are absolutely awesome! =)
Your hair looks good, and it will look even better as it grows. You put yourself in the view of the camera much more often than I.
Tracy
Thank you very much, Tracy! You should try to post more photos. I think you'll find that you'll get to enjoying it quite a bit. =)
-James
Great update James and your hair is doing fabulous! I seem to remember at your stage that I too experienced hair that looked more straight a day or two after washing. Most likely the oils are weighing it down.
Give it another 6 months, (3") and I'll bet that it will appear straighter. A year? Straight with perhaps a slight wave to it.
You have super great hair to work with. You will be a long hair before you know it. And it will look superb! (Never fails.)
Justin
Thank you so much for your very kind words, Justin! I can't wait to see how it looks down the road, especially when I go to Portugal, Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc etc... Most of my family hasn't seen how long it's gotten, so that will most definitely be fun to see their reactions. =)
-James
Your hair's coming along real nice! I like the waviness in it. I wish mine had a little more body to it. Oh well... :)
"... pouty-cute face" Cool! ;)
--Rick
Hehe, thanks, Rick! Your hair is rockin sweet, too! =)
-James
James, everything is comin' on really well, and for ten months to be able to 'tail' your hair is superb. You really look like you are enjoying the journey too, which is essential.
Best regards, Dave
Thank you very much, Dave! Since this is all new to me, I just have to accept it for what it is and be glad to have such great support along the way. =)
-James
Tis coming along nicely James - your hair is starting to really take on a character of its own. Congrats!
Thanks a bunch, Pablo! =)
Ahh yes, next week is my spring break too! I can't wait. Hope you have fun where ever you find youself. Hope all is well in Indiana. Your hair is looking great, and the half-tail is really a cool style to do. Now and forward with your hair it is beginning to look long too, and I imagine you will really enjoy it.
I've always liked going to Kentucky too. What part did you visit? Lexington is a cool town. It's a pretty state with interesting landscapes.
Hey Matt! Thanks for the very kind words! This was actually my first trip to Kentucky, and it was a completely unplanned trip to visit my ex-fiancee who lives in Danville. We drove through Lexington and I must say that the UK campus is absolutely gorgeous. There were some other parts of the city that were a little seedy, but everywhere is like that. =)
Lovely hair, James! It has definitely grown since your last update and the waviness really suits you. I really love your hair colour. So you too couldn't wait till the 12th huh? lol
Keep uo the good work and enjoy your spring break! =}
Thank you grrrrr (such a great username!)... A bit of impatience on my part, but also not having access to high-speed internet next week also bolstered my decision to post early. But again, thank you very much! =)
You're gettin some real length now, looks realy healthy too, also how short was your hair when you started?
Simon
I have to tell you that you look soo much like one of my first cousins from my mother side, although i haven't met him for many years, he's finnsh, but i don't think he's as tall as you are, it's incredible how people can look the same, lol:)
Simon
Hey, thanks a lot, Simon! To answer your question, my bangs were at most 4cm and the back was layered down to a shaved neckline.
That's quite interesting that your cousin looks like me. My ancestry is half Swedish, and I understand that there's a significant minority of Swedes in Finland. Maybe we're somehow related? =P Anyway, thanks again!
-James
Hi there, James!
Do I EVER see an awesome mane in the making! Your growth seems to have picked up lately, I can tell you take really good care of your hair, the texture and thickness are perfect for really long hair, it's certainly interesting how much straighter your hair gets a day or two after washing. I hope you are considering waist length or longer.
Keep it growing,
David
(As a side note, I am planning a road trip, across the US in Spring 2009 and plan to meet as many guys from the MLHH as possible, I'm not sure if Colorado will be on my route but just keep it in mind that I would like to meet you as well depending on where you are living in 2009)
Hey, thank you very much, David! I still haven't completely decided on a final length, though the inspiration of a few particular members of this board may push me toward waist-length.
As far as the road trip goes, I'm not exactly sure where I'll be at that point. That will be the second semester of my senior year, so I may be in Indiana or I could be off in Europe somewhere... But if it happens that our paths cross, it'd be great to meet up! Anyway, again, thank you. =)
-James
Looking good mate! How fast does your hair grow?
Thanks, Erik! I thought it used to grow at about the average rate, but I've definitely noticed that it seems to be faster than 1/2-inch-per-month. I don't have an exact figure unfortunately. =)
-James
Outstanding progress !
Your hair is in fantastic condition and the fact that you can actually tie it back so quickly is impressive.
Your half-tail doesn't look half-bad !!
Thanks for Sharing
WWT
Thank you very much for the kind words, Walter! I appreciate it. =)
-James
...congratulations! Great progress! Every 1/2 inch will really show up now!
Good Luck!
Thanks, Luckskind! =)
hey James
the hair is lookin Ace, in the first pic your hair looks red!!(did you die it?)anyway, take care man!!
-Jacob
Thanks, Jacob! No, I didn't dye it. That's just how it looked with natural sunlight coming in through the window. =)
-James
Really cool hair, You've come a long way since November, when I joined! Did you ever dye your hair red because it looks like it has reddish streaks? Sorry if you mentioned it before. Really cool hair, Keep it growing!
-Mihnea
Hey, thanks, Mihnea! No, I haven't dyed my hair since last August, in which case it was almost black. My natural color is what is shown in these photos. Almost everyone on my father's side has or had red hair at some point in their lives, so I guess I inherited that. =)
-James
You're definitely getting some length and it's looking healthy. You're almost at one year...keep it up, brother.
Way to go James! Excellent progress and nice set of pics!
Keep on growin'
Bruce
Looking better and better, James!!
It's getting nice and thick.
- Oren
Thank you very much for the kind words, Oren! =)
