Hello everyone,
I have considering cutting just the back of my hair. It's starting to look like a mullet. I was told to keep cutting the back until the rest catches up. I'm almost at my one year mark! What do u guys think? I would post a pic but I want to wait until my full year to post my next pic. A few months ago I was going to cut it all off and everyone here gave some nice support, thank you. I'm really liking the way my hair is coming in. What should I do about the back. My mother use to be a hair dresser so I'm going to let her cut it and she knows not to take to much off, how much should I take off the back? any suggestions will be very helpful.
Eric.
I just cut the back of mine for the same reason. Did't want the Joe Dirt look...most here just say let it grow but I am trimming mine up every few months too keep it thick looking and to give it better shape at least until the sides catch up. But each to his own... BUT DONT CUT IT ALL OFF and make sure you can trust your stylist...
G-O
This is how my hair looked about 10 months ago. Today it is below waist level.
1. I had NO trims (and yet the hair appears full, at least enough to myself).
2. Shape? (This is the automatic shape hair assumes when left alone.) It is known as the "V Shape."
3. When left alone, hair evens itself out all by itself. Many guys who have gone-in for a trim as they are growing their hair out so often have ended-up with dissaster. Is it really worth it?
4. The only thing that can cause troubles along the way are Split-Ends which only have to be individually cut right above the split.
Oh well:
So much for the "Joe Dirt" look. :-)
I wouldnt cut the back, just let it grow out, unless you want the even look. If you want the tapered shape in the back just let it grow out.
The beard looks great too, I like the close trimmed beard look too.
even look. If you want the tapered shape in the back just let it grow out.
I decided not to cut the back, i'm just going to put it in a small pony tail, any suggestions on what I should use to keep it in a pony tail
Most here just use the hair ties that you can get at your local drug store or grocery store. They look like little black rubber bands, I have some made by Scunci the name is I think. Usually they give you a ridiculous amount of them but that seems the only way to buy them but they are cheap.
Good luck
Cutting hairs can have unpredictable result unless you trim constantly. What's gonna happen when you try and even it out is that the hair is going to start looking weird and stick out in places that you dont want it to be.
