As everyone here has said before, is's not necessary to cut the hair while growing it long, well for some people it really is imporant, and i think i am one of them, because my hair seems to be quite fragile and gets split ends pretty easily, so if i would go many years without a single trim the hair would probably look horrible, i think it all depends on the hair quality, some people never has to cut their hair to get it long.
At least that's what i think.

I seem to have typical thin european hair, wich probably explains why it break so easily, and if you compare my hair too for example Justins and Absaloms it's a huge difference, that's probably why they don't need to trim their hair as often too, and as i've said before it's all in the hair quality.

On a nitpicky note, I don't think there is any single hair type that could be classified as typical european hair. I don't even see how one could soundly argue the existence of a difference between "typical european hair" and "typical american hair", in terms of hair quality.
You've got a point there, but anyway some people have much thicker hair than other, and some have thinner that is harder to grow long and healthy without it breaking off.
Well, I´d say you have typical scandinavian hair. It is very very common to have thin hair among scandinavian males. However, in spain and italy and countries like that they tend to have thicker hair.
It all depends on how much you care about how your hair looks. If you just care about length and nothing about looks, then you could skip trims. But ask yourself how many women never trim their hair while it's growing long? Most women's hair looks good even while growing out because they have it trimmed.
I had mine trimmed every 12 while growing it out and it reached the length in the picture in about 3.5 years. My goal was length AND healthy, nice looking hair.
I have to agree with you that you have AWESOME hair, Mick. The length, condition, thickness, and colour are about as good as it gets. You must have a phenomenal growth rate, to reach your waist in 3 1/2 years even with the trims. I was wondering how much you trim each year? (Even guys with fast growing hair like Justin needed 4 years, guys with normal growth rate take 5 years or more to reach waist length)
Hope you can post more pictures soon and all the best,
David
I agree, your hair looks great, but it is by no means healthy. Hair is dead. No amount of trimming can change that. The only purpose for trimming is to beautify hair, which is what you've done.
