Just a few weeks back, the bangs kept falling out of the tie, but they seem to be staying securely tied back now. I've been eagerly anticipating this. The wind here has been giving me a few minor tangles and some frizz lately, but now that I can tie my hair back, windy days shouldn't be much of an issue. I would just like to give a huge 'thank you' to everyone here who has given me advice and support over the past 18 months. Without the haircare knowledge that I picked up here, there's no way I would have ever been able get this far. BTW, 19 months is only 10 days away. Oh, how time speeds on by. :)
Wow, SOADdude! You have quite the mass of wavy/curly hair right there in that tie, and it looks absolutely outstanding. It's great to see everyone reaching new milestones lately. =)

Bravo! Your hair is looking fantasic, and what a great ponytail has been accomplished in 18 months. All now starts to get easier and you have (no doubt because of no trims) arrived even before the two-year mark.
Some think I am an "anti-trim person" which I am ONLY in the beginning stages. Might as well attain in 2 years what trims will take 3 to 4 years to achieve...........let alone all of the botched-up jobs of which we read unfortunately all too often.
Superb healthy looking long hair!
Great update!
Thank you so much, Justin. I'm sort of 'anti-trim' myself...well, I guess a more accurate description would be 'anti-unnecessary trim'. I think a good bit of that opinion has come from reading your posts and seeing your pics. Your hair proves that trims are not an absolute 'must' and that a person can have very nice looking hair without them.
Bravo and a hearty congratulations to you! What an awesome, thick ponytail you have, the hair looks so thick, shiny, and healthy. Getting ALL the hair to stay in the tie, even with the wind, means the awkward phase is entirely behind you and it's all fair sailing from now on.
Keep it growing,
David
Yep, I thought I would never graduate from ranks of 'awkward-stager'. I'm so glad that I'm the one in control now and not the mop on top of my head :)
BTW, I saw you post a bit lower down on the board that you planned on posting a ponytail pic, since you haven't before. I bet you hair looks great in a tail. Peace.
...And a proud tail it is !
Congratulations !

Congrats dude, that is the biggest milestone for being a longhair in my book. Well done, it looks terrific and now you can enjoy the works of your patience :)
Enjoy!
Thanks a lot, Chris.
I hope you start feeling better quickly, man. We're all pulling for you. Peace.
I am a huge fan of your hair, SOADdude! The length the shine, the curlyness, yet seeming manageability: verythink I hope for my hair (though I think mine is a *touch* more curled-up than yours. ;)
Great job, congratulations!
Shawn
Thanks, Shawn. I didn't get a chance to reply to your tail post, but I must say that it was very impressive. I don't think I could have done something like that at 10 months. Keep it growing, and you'll have a mane that most could only dream of. I have a feeling that your hair would look like Bodhi's if grown out long enough. If that's not inspiration, I don't know what is :) Happy growing.
Congratulations - it looks good.
Awesome! Congrats! I've recently reached the same milestone (Just last week, the bangs stopped falling out) and I am at 21 months with a trim in October (which I now regret). Your hair looks really good, the waves/curls are cool, and most importantly, it suits you. Keep it growing!
-Mihnea
Thanks, Mihnea. Trims are definitely to be avoided unless they are absolutely necessary. Justin and Luckskind's manes prove that trims are not a 'must' during the growing out process. Keep it growing, and thanks for the nice words.
Looks great. Feels good, I'll bet.
Congratulations!
Look good! Congratulations on this important milestone.
Keep on growin'
Bruce
Hey SOADdude
You have one great head of hair there. It is very thick and healthy. It appears to be a bit unruly, but it will tame down when it gets longer. a ponytail sure is helpful and allows you to enjoy your hair much more. Curly/wavy hair is a real challenge to grow. You are another mlhh success story.
Absalom
Congratulations dude, that is fantastic, your is superbly thick, great to hear from you again. Take care and keep rockin'!!
thats great man!!!your hair must be super fast growing cause I'm at the 19-month mark and even though I tie a somewhat high ponytail,my bangs still keep falling out!!grrr..I guess I'm gonna have to wait a few more months :)
Looks awesome!
Hey! The hair looks awesome!
Are you growing your beard? I see some facial hair there.
Jeffrey.
Thanks, Jeffrey.
As for the beard, I've just been shaving once a week. I'll probably shave tomorrow if I get around to it. I'm sure I'll grow it some time down the road, when I get older and it thickens up some more.
Holy Hair-ties!!! Looks like you've got enough hair to supply an army (and Lord knows... the army *especially* needs some hair on their head right now)! Looking very VERY mpressive there!!
- Ken
That means a lot, coming from an mlhh veteran like yourself :)
Cheers
No pun intended...although that would have been a clever one. I should have taken credit for that one =P
Don't know what to add to whats been said already :)
You have excellent volume and tying it back highlights this. & congratualtions on being able to tie it all back, I know from sweet past experience on 2 occasions that it is a sweet, sweet, feeling :)
Congrats! The more I grow my hair out, the more I understand the kind of committment you are being rewarded for right now.
