Hello! I have a question . Did anyone ever enjoy going to the barbershop to et a haircut before they started to grow their hair long. ? I know I did and I enjoyed it as a diversion. I jusr wonder if anyone else ever enjoyed it also.
Yup. When I decided I wanted to grow my hair out I was in my 3rd month and I went to get a trim and ask how to grow my hair out and she said "don't cut it" but then again she trimmed it! LOL
I most certainly did!!! I went to one of those old time barber shops with the classic 80 year old guy who gave a hair cut and shave for $8. At the end he would massage your scalp with his fingers and he used this big old back rub machine that looks like an old belt sander (minus the pain lol) and he would massage your back and neck with it.
at times i do miss the long stories he told, i guess ill stop by there and check on him. NOT TO GET A HAIR CUT, only to catch up with those guys.

No! I hated it! :-(
I didn't mind it. My mom used to take me to an older barber shop throughout elementary school, but we eventually tired of them. In the mid-90s, we started going to Schroeder's (not sure how wide-spread they are, but they had several in our area). It was more of a salon with great people, and I was able to get it cut by the same woman each time, a friendly elderly lady. But she eventually quit and I switched to one of the guys, and he was great. Always very talkative and friendly, and sometimes we'd play along if a game show was on TV, trying to guess the answers before the contestants. When he quit and moved to another salon, we stayed with him there until we moved out of the area in 1999. After first moving, we actually made a few special trips back for haircuts just to use him (about a two hour drive), but we ultimately lost touch.
That sounds real nice and I bet if you didnt lose touch it would be short today
I only decided to start growing it again late last year. My last haircut was in October. I just recently passed the five-month mark. Since moving to where we live now, I've had my hair cut by a variety of people because I could never quite find someone good enough to keep going back to.
I always hated it!! When I was little, my grandfather cut my hair. I was a "skinhead" until I was in the 6th grade and my parents finally agreed to let me grow my hair to a "short" length.
The cut I didn't care about, but the wash and scalp massage was sensual!

I went every 10 weeks or so because I had some idea that I'd have to get one sooner or later so I went to get it over with. I enjoyed the social aspects because I liked everyone at the place I used to go to and I've known the girl (I think she wouldn't mind if I referred to her that way) who cut my hair for 12 or 13 years and I always enjoyed visiting with her while getting it cut. So that was a good time and I miss not seeing everyone there but I never liked having real short hair.
