I spend a few hours (prob 3-5) trimming split ends (about a month ago)... I must honestly say it wasn't as boring as I thought it would be, I went through the entire dark side of the moon album (pink floyd) quite a few times and time just flew by. When I was done, i had pretty much checked every hair, I looked through and couldn't find a single split (after the "trim"). Anyway I checked for split ends again (this is about a month later) and I found quite a few, actually alot, I run alot and occationally box, this is the only place that breakage could come from, i take very good care of my hair (no straightening/dye, ect) and I still find quite a few split ends, I was wondering is this normal? My hair is about 3 inches past my shoulder)
Thanks so much
this does'nt surprise me one bit.when I had short hair,I remember my sister once telling me that I have split ends!! (?!)
back then,I wouldn't go longer than 4 months without a haircut,so I think it's normal.some people are more prone to having split ends than others..
Yea it is practically normal. Nature itself can cause split-ends. The wind and long exposure to sun can cause splits. I suppose boxing and any other physical sport can cause splits as well. Don't worry about them too much. Just get rid of them when you find them or else just leave them alone(not a good choice because some serious tangling will occur).
All The Best
