  Hi!
  My name is Dee Dee and I found your board by it being mentioned over on TLHC's site. I've been lurking for a few days, but when I saw Camogirl's post, I thought I'd join in (If you'll let me). lol

  I think it's wonderful that you guys have your own community and support system! I can only imagine the discrimination that you all face in regards to your long hair. I believe EVERYONE has the right to wear their hair in any way they so chose. Being a non-conforming individual is an attractive personality trait in ANYONE, IMO. Who wants to be like or look like everyone else??? lol

  I'm new to hair boards in general myself... Did a search on the topic after a friend of mine told me she thought I was too OLD to being wearing my hair as long as I do a while back.
  So you see, long haired women can be discriminated against too...My own mother is always telling me to do something with "That Mess"! Women can be so snarky sometimes! LOL

  BTW, here's the MESS she refers too. lol

    I am considered too old to have long hair too.I am 53 so don't let people get to you.

    thanks for the kind comments,and I myself was surprised to find out that women with very long hair generally recieve not-so-good comments about their hair as do men with long hair,after reading a number of posts at the LHC.I do believe men receive a little bit more discrimination though,as an employer would never ask a woman to cut her hair.

    again,welcome!!and I wouldn't call your hair a "mess",it's beautiful!! ^_^

    Awesome Thanks for posting and you are very welcome just like the rest of the opposite sex Im very pleased you decided to take it upon yourself to post here yup women are ALL welcome to post here :-).

    No one is to old to wear there hair as they choose to and that is your choice alone and only for you to decided !

    I am so glad you dropped by to say hello to all of us here at the MLHH, you will find a community here like no other. I was also so happy to see chamogirl introduce herself to our community yesterday, she has been so supportive of me over at the LHC. Rest assured that both of you are 100% welcome in our community, be sure to look around our site and stay a while.

    I also wanted to add that it is NEVER to old to have long hair, don't let your mother tell you otherwise! As for the "MESS" she is referring to, I have to say your hair is truly outstanding in every way, don't let anyone tell you to cut it!

    There is no 'mess' in sight here. Your hair is seriously the definition of perfection.

    I don't think that a woman is ever too old for long hair. It baffles me that so many choose to cut their hair so much shorter, because they think they are "too old" for it. It just doesn't make sense to me. In any case, I don't know your age, but your hair looks like that of someone young. Thanks for posting.

    Hi Dee Dee, glad you found the board, and I welcome you here. I like your attitude right from the start! I hope you keep your hair super-long. I have never understood why women after a certain age almost invevitably will cut their hair short. Recently, I have surpassed both my mother and sister's hair lengths, and mine is not even that long yet!

    BTW, here's the MESS she refers too. lol

    If that's a mess, then I want my hair to be the worst mess ever!

    I'm female too and these guys have let me lurk, post and rant LOL

    I intend to be a very old lady with very long silver hair. People can be very mean to both men and women. Perhaps tehy are jealous or something?
