How long would you estimate it would take for the hair to reach the shoulders and having a decent slicked back ponytail, if you start from about a 1 inch buzzcut?
Would 12-13 months be enough or maybe even longer?
Hey
Simon
You thinking of having your hair done in a 1 inch Buzzcut then If you are id say it would take longer than that probably 18 months and over to achieve your desired length of a slicked back ponytail but before you do have a number 1 buzzcut........
Why do you Want a Number 1 buzzcut what reason is there to have you haircut in the buzzcut in the first place ???
Axel
Well, first and foremost it's an easy style to maintain during the hot summers + my natural haircolor would return completely, still, i'm not quite sure if i'm going to do it or not.

Hmmmmmmmm
I cant answer your question as Ive NEVER had a Buzzcut myself I cant say that id want to either Only thing that I can say is if it is an easy style to maintain as you say will you have a buzzcut even when your growning out like next Summer Im not trying to alter your decision on you having it but it reminds me of the flowers garden that fade and lose there petals during the summer like you losing your locks during the summer after winters growth but whatever you decide we will support you in everyway we can on the MHLL board.
It might be a good idea to go to Jasons website and look at his hair journeys as Jason as had all different length of hair before finally becoming a longhair himself at least you will have a rough idea how long it will take you to get your Steven Seagal look back !
Best of luck on what you decide Simon

Hey SImon,
Know you hve a friend in NY who can understand what you are saying. My suggestion to you is if it is the damage you are worry about maybe you could get a shampoo at a salon that they recommend for people with perms. I had really bad split ends once when I was sick about 12 y6ears ago in the hospital and malnourished and my hair look bad. Instead of cutting then I used the perm shampoo and conditioner and it seemed to help.

I would say 18 or so months - I'm at 8.5 and in 4 months i'll probably be around chin level (if i stretch my hair, curly)
grrrrr is at 10 months or so and his pictures may be well suited for you as you seem to have rather straight hair

I had a number 2-3 buzzcut when I last cut mine, and I've been growing it for 18 months. It's several inches below my shoulders and I can make a fairly long ponytail easy, and have been able to for about 4-5 months. Shouldn't take long.
I'd say closer to 2 years...
On average, human hair only grows about 1/2" per month.
Seems to me that you'd need close to 12" of hair to make a good pony tail.
