Hi everyone. I've been lurking for awhile here and I appreciate all the good advice on this forum. I've been growing for nine months now, with the goal of mid-back hair. Seems I'm fully in the awkward phase right now, my hair is BIG and POOFY and extremely wavy, but not yet long enough to restrain. I usually wear a hat to work and to class and it looks like I have a mullet when I'm wearing the hat. Oh well, I guess good things come to those who wait. Tell me what you think. My face is kinda sunburned in the pics.
Welcome
It may feel "Big and poofy" but is still looks great and suits you - so don't worry about that too much.
As you say everything will come and your looks as if it will be excellent.
Hey, it looks awesome! Not too curly, not too straight. How long have you been growing it out?
Thanks. I've been growing it for about nine months. I did have a trim at around the 2-month mark (before I discovered this website) to take the curls out of the back and to "get the chunks out" as the stylist said. I now regret this.
Greetings Allen:
You have a superb head of hair that already looks good, when it get's longer it'll be terrific. It will be worth the wait. Keep it going!

Welcome
The first thought that came to my mind was; Raven Feathers
Gorgeous shiny waves.....looks just fine now, with only better to come.
Thanks for Sharing
Welcome Allen and thank you for sharing your long hair progress. All seems to be looking great. Don't worry, as it gets longer it will settle down alot.
Keep it growing. :-)
Your hair is off to a good start and should look great when it gets to about twice its current length. Be patient, things will get better in the future. All that poofiness should settle down by then leaving you with a mane with some pleasing waves in it.

Hi Allen,
Welcome aboard! You will find an awesome community of very supportive people here like no other. Your hair is off to a great start, thick, healthy, and shiny. You have made great progress for nine months, your hair can only get better as it gets longer. I was wondering if you have a final goal?
Keep it growing,
David
Thanks for the support David. I have a vague final goal of mid-back, which may or may not change as I get closer and closer to it. Who knows.
Hi allen, hair is looking good to me .I to have started this journey to long hair, (five months), but after lurking here i have posted a few questions and have found nothing but positive comments, and encouragement. Also in times of doubt remember this qoute: IT IS GOOD TO HAVE A JOURNEY TO END TOWARDS,BUT ITS THE JOURNEY THAT MATTERS IN THE END.
Cheers mate, jonny uk.
