I am getting so sick of people asking me when I'm going to cut my hair. Istarted to grow it out a year ago. Because it's wavy, it just touches below my shoulders. It goes to the bottom of my shoulder blades when it's wet. My father has taken to slipping haircut coupons in my jacket when I visit. I work in radio. It is VERY accepted in the industry but STILL people at work ask "Why are you growing your hair so long?" BECAUSE I WANT TO OK??? DO I HAVE YOUR PERMISSION???? Jeez. And really it 's only long looking in the back because I usually wear a baseball cap. I stuff some of the long stuff through the back hole like chicks do to keep it a little more tidy. I wish it would grow faster. I can't yet get away with with a pony tail. If i put a rubberband on the back , my hair frizzes and curls and winds up looking like a poodle tail. I tried serveral rubber bands at different lengths and the whole thing just curls up like an elf shoe. I know when it gets longer it will start to straighten out. Just wish it was sooner. Oh well. Thanks for letting me vent. Grow hair , grow!!!!
Yeah, it takes a while for people around you to get used to the idea of you having long hair
As for rubber bands, do not use the elastic rubber ones with no cover, they rip your hair. Go for the cloth ones, preferably without the little metal piece.
Keep it growing and best of luck! You're always welcome to vent/ask for advice here!

Yes, these usual rubber bands are annoying, but I use some black ones, which looks like being cut off an inner tyre of a bike wheel. (in fact, I think this is the way how these are made) These doesn't get catched with hair and putting them off is smooth.
But all rubber bands snaps after a time.
Unfortunately, I can't find any elastic cloth bands, in shops here are only some for women (mostly colourful) and mostly made of velvet. (I can't touch the velvet, even thinking of it causes me frisson, which is VERY uncomfortable)
Why is it that people never seem to know when to leave well enough alone? They seem to feel it's some civic duty to ensure that nobody can be different without undergoing intense questioning.
I like your attitude! Of course you can do what you want with your hair. Keep it growing mate!
Don't worry about it, man. It's all good.
I'm not sure if that's the way you react when people ask you why you have long hair, but try this approach: next time somebody asks you, just say something simple like "why not?" or don't say anything at all, and then give them this really surprised look. Act like you're stunned and that they should be ashamed of themselves for asking such a question!
That is exactly what I do LOL
Perhaps from now on pretend that you don't even hear them? Ignor. Afterall...........just who are they anyway? Typical of people that mind everyone elses business........but their own!
Alas, all of this idiotic nibby talk from "do gooders" who can't mind their own business is part of what the long hair growing out his hair has to contend with so often in many a case.
Just keep it growing and just wait. In another year these stupid comments will no longer be heard.
Never do anything for anyone other than yourself, simply...no one can force you to get it cut. keep it growin!:D
LOL! Put them in *his* jacket pocket with a note, saying "Maybe you can use these".
I like to tell people when they get down on my hair..." Gee I'm reall sorry that you dislike the way god has designed me. As for me 'm fine with his decision."
