Thanks for the warm welcomes and the advise. However, the issue is not with hair failing out per se, but with my hair being pulled from combing. The only time I can properly comb my hair is when it is wet, and even during this time I take extra care in brushing my hair. In other words, I brush my hair as gently as possible, often times resorting to evaluating the brush for hairs after every stroke. However, even when doing this my brush tends to have 3 or four pieces of hairs accumulated. my fingers also tend to catch a few hairs on them. Would these hairs be pulled hairs from brushing or hairs that had already come out of their roots and were just sitting under the top layers of hair waiting to be removed? Is this something that would be deemed normal for the growing out phase of hair? I'm concerned because this never happened when my hair was short (or maybe I just didn't pay attention or notice and wasn't too concerned about my hair at the time as much as I am now). By the way: I'm closing in on my 8th month of hair growth. And advise and/or help would be truly appreciated. Thanks.
Remember hair is very fragile when wet, id recommend using a wide tooth comb rather then a brush. I like combing it back with the comb then letting it air dry. I do tend to pull around 6-8 hairs out using this method and from what i can tell the hairs are usually ones taht were laying there loose just jumbled with the rest of the hair. Of course you may pull one or break one from time to time, so use extra care and comb gently. It is perfectly normal to shed some hair 100 hairs a day is the average, i started noticing the amount of hair around the sink/shower around 6 months or so
yes,it's completely normal,if you notice a white bulb thingy on the end of shed hairs. If not, then these hairs are "broken" hairs and that means you should be a little more gentle with your hair.I lose way more hairs than that.
