I'm trying to grow my hair out (just to see how it feels--it's only about 4-1/2" so far) and I've been having dreams where I suddenly have much longer hair than I actually do-- I've had this type of dream in the past as well, and it's always a very comforting feeling. Do you suppose there's any interpretation beyond just wanting to have longer hair? --Blake (hoping to have enough patience to stick with it)
Dear Blake:
Yes, I have had at least six dreams, that I can recall, where my hair was waist-to-ankle length.
When I wake-up, I feel badly that it was just a dream. I also feel happy that I was able to see myself having the long hair that I would love to have in real life. (I hope that somebody can someday, via biotech or nanotech, make this dream real.)

I think our dreams are where we get to play out all the possibilities we've considered that we haven't gotten to do in our wakeful life. Unlike fantasies, they may even be things we wouldn't consciously think about doing(like something violent or becoming president), but a little part of us has wondered about it so in a dream we try it out.
I think you just love long hair and are anxious to experience it. Don't be surprised if once you do grow it out, you dream about wearing your hair short again. Just remember this doesn't mean you "really" want to cut it!
