Hey Guys:
Is anyone in here in the awkward stage and having trouble with the ladies? I went on a date last week and everything was going great, but then the girl said she wasn't interested in dating. I later found out from her friend that she doesn't like guys with long hair with the exception of that guy from "A Knight's Tale." I just don't get why there are some girls that just can't stand long haired males. I like girls with both long and short hair, why can't it be the same for them likeing both long and short haired guys? Man, I hate the awkward stage!
I'm in the akward stage. My hair is inch-inch1/2 below my chin(in the front) when I pull it straight. But my hair curls, so it can be at chin length to a few inches above my chin. The back of my hair is longer then the front(I just grew it out all at once) and that curls some too. But the girls seem to really like my hair, of'corse it might be that I'm in high school, tho. And besides who wants a girl that bases who they date on appearences? especially if they have long hair or not. thats just shallow.
p.s. I'm still looking for a picture of someone with braided dreads. THANK YOU!

I went through the same thing and I almost cut my hair short. Don't cave in to the pressure of these narrow minded women! I would have regretted cutting my hair, and I would have started growing it back. Wear your hair the way you want to! Don't listen to others. Some women will never be happy with you. First they will change your hair, then your clothes, friends, job, car etc. There are women who will except you and your hair. For the rest of them, don't even give them the time of day! Long hair is a great way to weave out these dangerous women. Look at Johnny Depp, he went through the awkward stage and now he has long hair. He has no trouble with the ladies!

The awkward stage is really a drag. when mine was there I just kept it back with a little gel. after that I tied it in a pony until it got long enough to let out. Mine is about halfway down my back now. The women either go for it or don't. Awkward stage or not. I have found the ones that like it ""really like it"" and conversly the ones that dont really dont. Just cross the latter off because there are plenty of the others.
Bro, dont' worry. There are plenty of women who like men with LH. I was worrying about it too. So had a poll here at work. Most of the women said long (many mentioned 'not too long').
Hello, I can totally relate to your dating experience. When I am out dancing at a club, I get the wierdest looks and have been told get away on the dance floor. Or I have been trying this internet dating, and one of my photos is distant. Well, when I send a closer one they say no thanks because of my long hair. And a few have even said that they are jealous because mine was longer and fuller than theirs. Go figure. I just enjoy mine and keep the hope that there is a lady that is open minded out there. Who ever started this site, thanx.

the next time a woman with Medium to long hair turns you down, say to her "well that's alright ,because I prefer women with short hair anyway."
try to keep a straight face and be serious when you say it and watch her reaction.
I'm just curious how the Ladies would feel if Men turned them down because their hair was too long.

i mean, on one hand they say that it's the inside of a guy that really counts, and they blame us man for only looking at the outside!
on the other hand, they don't like you because you have long hair!

she use to preach to me about how a Man should have short hair and all that and she believed the negative stereotypes associated with Long Haired Men.
do yourself a favor, get a hold of a Pagan Chick.
they are a lot more tolerant and In many cases PREFER Men with Long Hair than short hair.

I am Asatru' and I've met a lot of Wiccan ladies here in the local Neo-pagan community.
Yes, they are more tolerant than xtain women. I have met a few xtians that I don't have as big an issue with because they don't think they're better than non-xtains, but for the most part they look down on nonxtians.
They have hangups about sex and have it in the back of their minds that as much as they like you, they have to deal with the fact that if you don't convert to their faith b4 you die, you are going to spend eternity in tormenting flames.
I just as soon not have to deal with that. Wiccan ladies will walk with you nude under a full moon and braid your hair as if it were Sif's (Thor's wife) golden locks.
Witches can heal you in ways that this site is not meant to discuss.
Maybe you should address this issue with her the next time you are alone.
Women can seem a bit strange. when I was a teen they used to get upset if you even got a trim, now it seems that they get upset if you grow it out.

from their significant other female friends, and some fashion-trendy
males, what to like and dislike at the mnoment about anything. Males,
on the other hand, tend less to change, even when they should. Driving polluting cars is an example.
When the fashion for long-haired males is more firmly re-established,
women and girls will once again *love* guys with long hair, at least
during the period of that fashion.

sad but true: most women (well poeple in genral) have no mind of there own, they have no own taste, they listen to the music that society want them to liste, watch tv-series that society wants them to watch, and their taste in men is just what society wants them to like!

I don't know if it will help, but i have some advice for men who are having problems finding women who like long hair. I myself have somewhat of an infatuation for guys with long hair. I met my husband in 1996, his hair was almost to his waist, and it was definitly the first thing that caught my attention, (it was beautiful)
Since then he has joined the military-sigh, so you know what that means. Of course is still love him with the crewcut, But man do i miss that hair. I really can understand how you would get frustrated with the entire situation, especially in the growing out stages. Unless you are seriously blessed, if you are trying to grow your hair out, you will go through a stage of hair scariness. Ok here is the advice, regardless, nothing is going to be completly painless:) first of all many of you probably have a drastic length difference from the front to the back with the back being longer that is how hair naturally grows, with the back seeming to grow out much faster. Although it seems to defeat the purpose you need to continue to trim the back so there wont be such a drastic difference, although I love long hair on men, that looks sloppy. Of course it will for a while, just as it does on women. As soon as your hair is long enough to pull it back into a ponytail do so, that will keep you from touching it all the time, which can damage it, and make it look oily, and dirty , due to the residue on your hand. When you wash your hair be sure to condition it, especially the ends. if you have oily hair anyway, then only condition the ends. I tend to have oily hair, and mine is long as well. If you are like me, do not put conditioner on your scalp. Another important thing is DO NOT rip through your hair with a brush when it is wet. That will do massive damage. You need to start at the ends, and work your way up with a very wide toothed comb, or a hair pick that is widely spaced. this will minimize the amount of split ends that you get. Remember that you need to be growing out quality long hair, not long damaged fur. Growing your hair long definitly is an investment of patience, but you will need to put some additional work into it. Women would rather see hair that is just to the shoulders, and in good shape rather then hair that is to the waist, and fried. Also I'm sure you all have noticed that long hair takes alot longer to dry then short hair. Alot of men begin using a blowdryer at this time. Anything that puts off heat WILL damage your hair. My advice although it takes longer is to buy a blowdryer with a cool temp. selection on it. they are everywhere. this is no more damaging to your hair then wind, since it puts off no heat. that is what i use now, and it makes a huge difference in your hair. The last thing is don't pull your hair back with just anyhing. You need to buy covered rubber bands. They have some wonderful ones out now. they even make then with no metal connectors so they are totally covered in cloth. real rubber bands are torture for your hair. Also invest in a satin pillowcase. the friction from regular ones can cause split-ends and breakage while you are sleeping. those of you who wake up with bed head know what i mean. Also of course dont color your hair, that is my downfall, I love to play with color. Anyway, i wish you guys the best of luck, i know its hard, but keep the faith. the average person grows 6 inches of hair in 1 yr, that is enough to grow out of any style. I'm not trying to be a know-it-all, i just wanted to pass on what i have learned to you. As far as the women go MANY of my friends who claim to not like men with long hair have stopped and stared when they see a man with beautiful hair, remember that quality is more importnt then length. TAKE CARE OF IT, AND YOU WILL MAKE HEADS TURN. If a woman didnt like you because you are growing your hair out, that is her loss. If she happens to run into you in a year if you have been taking good care of your hair, she will feel like an ass, because it will look great. Besides that, i doubt if you really want to be with a woman who won't give a potentially great person a chance because of whats on his head. Keep the faith guys, and remember alot of the s*it you get from people when they look at your hair is jealousy. it takes alot of dediction, and most people are too lazy to even try, women included.
