Just got a new camera today, and it looks like it rocks. It's a Canon PowerShot A640. Takes 10 megapixel shots and uses flash by default. I need to figure out how to use the self-timer. This is a scaled-down part of a clipped image. It's amazing how much better this is than digicams I've had before. I know this is pretty silly, with my face obscured by the camera and flash, but being a guy, I didn't read the directions and just pulled it out and started shooting. But anyway, now I can post better pictures, soon.
Great job with the shot. The hair is awesome! I knew we could get a shot of what beautiful hair you had with THE RIGHT camera!!!
Thank you so much for taking the time and trouble.

Congrats on the new camera!
Looks like you hair's grown a bunch since the picture you have as your avatar. Looks great too, BTW! =o)
How far apart were the pictures taken?
I think the avatar pic is from fall of '05, so it's about a year and a half ago.
I have a similar camera... press the menu buttom in the green mode and look for the icon with a clock that has a 10 in the corner. It sets you to the 10 second timer.
Wow Steve, your hair is really long now. It appears to reach your waist now. Looking good.
Please forgive me for not responding to your earlier thread regarding the SF bay area. I own a house in the east bay and just don't know what the rents and neighbourhoods are like on the penninsula, which is across the bay. I can show you around the east bay, which I am familiar with. I know everything here is costly, regardless of which side of the bay you live on.

Nice pic Steve. How long have you been growing yor hair long?
A little over 5 years.
Ha Ha Ha............then I am not the only to not read the directions 1st. (When will I ever learn?) Just put something together the other day that said "Assembles in Minutes." (But they didn't say how many minutes.) Two hours later I was still trying to get screw B2 through piece Z1 into Bolt X5 using special supplied wrench part no. 37. When finished, it was then that I read the directions.........but you know what? They were terrible!
Glad that you got your new camera. Mine still takes "Tin Types" and I need some more "Flash Powder" at present. LOL :-)
Heh, yeh. My last camera was 640 by 480. This is like going from a Model-T to a Ferrari.
Hi Steve,
The hair looks superb, some serious length there. That is certainly a great choice of camera. I have to add that the self timer, along with a tripod, really expands your picture apportunities. I have a lower end Canon camera (around 2 years old), and the self timer is VERY easy to use, I just go into the menu section and adjust a couple of things. Looking forward to lots of pics.

Great hair, nice camera.Getting a tripod is a good idea. It's funny, people will spend hundreds of dollars on a camera and not get a tripod.Tripods are cheap.A good one can be had for 20-30 bucks.
Keep it growing,
Arrick
Happy new camera and you really have great long hair!
Just a suggestion...
My friend has a "gorrila pod" and its pretty cool. It's mini tri-pod that has flexible legs so you can attach it to almost anything. This allows you to take timed shots in all kinds of location.
