Hi, just showin' my progress pic.
A few words about care routine :
wash every 5-7 days - one of the listed below:
For my dry, fine curls I apply every 2-4 weeks a sweet almond oil 1-2 hours before washning. Jojoba oil is hard to buy and expensive where I live. Almond oil works great for me, scents nice and makes hair soft. Olive oil didn't work at all. Applying oil reduced greatly breakage of hair, so it works towards greater lenghts - Now I find less hair on the floor :-O
Applying almond oil to the skin may be also beneficial for icking/skin irritation if it is dry (it is used primarily for massages). Vinegar wash helps it too. Lemon juice works the same as vinegar, but smells beautiful :)
I use Flinstones comb and fingercomb.

Great curls! Your routine is interesting and it seems to be working pretty well for you. How long have you been growing your mane? For curls oils are really necessary especially if your hair is dry (and curly most often is). It seems to be in top conditon!
PS: Wicked penguin shirt :P
Oh wait, it's not a penguin, I don't know what this creature is lol. Maybe it's a cartoon I haven't seen O.o
That's a mole, I can't remember which cartoon it comes from :).
Nice hair dude, keep growing it.
Peace

since 2001, but kept it for a long time above my shoulders

And what a picture it is. FABULOUS and HEALTHY long hair. Looks superb!
You are very lucky that you have found "your way" (routine that works for you) of taking the best care of your hair, and the results certainly show it.
Thanks for sharing with all of us the update.
Hi Adalbert,
You have a great head of healthy curls there! By all means, keep it growing.
Keep up the great growth,
David
What a fun pic!!
I'm so glad to read that there are others who are using Almond oil on their hair, --- and I totally agree that it has cut down on the number of split ends that I get (as compared to when I didn't know about beneficial oils for hair).
Another wonderful oil for hair is Kukui nut. I apply it to the ends and lower half of my hair when my hair is still damp, after coming out of the shower. Kukui nut oil is harder to find, though (even in the USA).
Take care, --- and keep it growin'!

Conditioner before shampooing (as well as after)? That sounds interesting. How well does that work for you? I might want to try that.
it sounds counterintuitive - why to condition - just to wash it soon ?
Works the same like applying a hand-cream to your hands before e.g. dishwashing - so water and detergents don't rip fats and humidity from your skin but from the cream
works nice...
Cheers, Adalbert
Great hair, no question, keep it growing and flowing.
