I'm delighted by the warm welcome I've received here. Thank you all so much for your kind words.
It's wonderful to see the support given to females, just as we love to support our male members on LHC. Some of you may be surprised at the amount of negativity long-haired women over a certain age face in the real world. There is an enormous pressure to cut and conform, especially once we hit about 35.
My hair is currently the longest it's ever been, and I have no plans to stop growing until I hit terminal.
Grrrrr, my hair is not its natural colour. I began to go grey in my mid-twenties, and I'm just not ready for that yet, so it is dyed from root to tip. I colour roots only every six weeks and I do not pull the colour through.
DavidN, how lovely that you were hoping I'd pop up here. That is so kind.
Bragi, I met your challenge, but to be honest, it's very easy with Jason's hair. Please don't put me to the test *too* much.
Thank you, each and every one of you.
Hello,
I am happy to see a female presence on this site, as your viewpoints, and encouragement are very well needed.
I have a lady friend, who is slightly older than me, and still has her long hair, and her "rocker spirit". I never knew that there was pressure to conform on the female side, but I do observe that over 40, women seldom have hair longer than shoulder-length. However, at my work place which is a university, I have a few women colleagues of my age group that have long hair.
I feel that in our society, people leave their looks to be taken care of by so-called "experts", like beauticians, hairstylists, image consultants, whereas the best expert is the one behind the mirror.
Keep it growing

Franny, you deserve the hearty "welcomings" for those amazing braids you did and if you didn't... Well, it's not natural then but I like that blonde :) Usually I don't like blond dye but this one is cool!
Welcome and thanks for sharing all your beautiful braiding work.....your must be working your poor fingers to the bone on Jason's hair alone. I suspect you could open a business now called "Franny's Braids" and men from all over the country would line up and throw their money at you for your work. I am only half-joking, you might have fun with that at one of the Renaissance Fairs.
Attached is a friend of mine who braids her own.....she says it is no fun whatsoever !

I didn't get a chance to reply to the previous thread, but I would just like to say that your braiding is great! Welcome to the mlhh.
