hi im from east yorkshire
ive been lurkin a while
im in new territory with hair length which is at shoulder and keep resisting the urge to cut which is difficult when i get knots and it becomes wiry
currently using coconut and jojoba oil
Welcome, Mr. Breeze!
I remember what it felt like to be in that "new territory", --- we've all been through it here, in fact... Just hang in there, and trust me, there will come a day when your hair will get to a length that will start to feel more & more comfortable. It's a gradual process, especially at first; but before you know it, you'll wake up some day and wonder why in the world you ever had it short!
Take care, --- and keep it growin'!

Welcome and good luck in your hair progress! Though you already have shoulder length hair so it's all gonna be easy now, don't worry about the knots, it should settle down like Ken said. Happy that the oils work for you :P
Don't cut it!! I finger comb mine which helps, oh and welcome!!
welcome! ^_^
ah yes knots...well,if you really hate the idea of losing length due to a trim (as do I),I recommend doing a search and destroy.that is,look for knots/split ends in your mane and snip them off with razor sharp scissors (don't use dull scissors) just above the knot.hope this helps.
of course..your other option is just leaving it all alone and just have a trim when you reach your goal length.
