whatsup , i have been growing my hair out for around 11 months now .. its thick n curly still in a akward stage but i can care less about that itll settle in time.
BUT .. lol
my question is shud is it wise to get braids for the time being . i just figure why the hell not , only reason i reconsider is if theres something i dont kno about getting them in the akward stage .. if not ill just go out n try em out ..
looking for some feedback
god bless.
I would hesitate with getting tight braids, especially if you plan on leaving them in for an extended period of time. I remember I started wearing my hair pulled back all the time as soon as i could get anything that resembled a tail, and for the longest time after i decided to wear it loose from then on, i had a kink/bend where the band was.
I would think that tight braids would do the same thing, but loose should be fine...
bear in mind that i have never had tight braids, so im just taking a stab at it from past experiences..
Either way you go, keep us updated and happy growing!!!!!

I have waist lenght hair and periodically wear it in a pony tail
and braided. They're not tight braids at not in the that form
all the time. The majority of time it is loose.
I don't know about the awkward stage, for me this is more advanced at the waist length stage.
I suggest you didn't braid your hair during the awkward stage. As you mentioned it's curly but it's still way too short and the braid will be tight and could damage your hair. You make the decision but I wouldnt' recommend them until at least you reach 16 months of growth.
yeah thats what i was thinking grrr , thanks for the feedback. ill wait a around 18 months cause itll be safer , and itll look better then rushing into this especailly during the akward stage.
