Okay, so public just meant cleaning the garage and walking to the grocery store, but I'm still quite pleased with it. Most of the hair doesn't fit of course, but it felt good to get the back portion off my neck since Minnesota set a daily high temperature record today. Spring has sprung!
Mouse
Congrats on this milestone! It looks really good, and in a couple months, all the hair will fit in the tail. Keep it growing, your hair will look even better when it's long.
-Mihnea
Thanks, Mihnea! Each day, a few more strands will be tail-able.
Mouse
Hi Mouse,
Isn't that a sweet moment when you can wear a ponytail for the first time? That is one milestone ALL of us growing long hair celebrate with pride. You have such lovely, thick hair that is going to look awesome when it gets super long.
All the best,
David
It IS sweet. I'm happy it's so thick too. My parent's told me that when I was four or five it was so thin that clips wouldn't stay put. I don't think I'll have that problem now. :-)
Thanks, David!
Mouse
FANTASTIC!!! I'm really happy for you! You've earned it my friend. I like the whole bandana, working on the weekend, casual thing! AND remember, there's a whole lot more where that came from! Peace - Bruce'ster
Ahh, the joys of working retail; Mondays ARE my weekends sometimes. I'm falling in love with bandanas too. I already bought five of them in various colors. :-)
Thanks for the support, Bruce!
Mouse
Beautiful Mouse! It goes so well with the bandana. I love how your hair glistens in the sun. It really brings out its rich color.
Thanks, Jason! I was going to just take the picture indoors, but when I thought of all your great outdoor shots, I just had to try it. I can see this becoming a habit. :-)
Mouse
Ah... Minnesota in the springtime... =D
The tail looks great! You'll have long hair before you know it, Mouse. Be patient and it'll be flowing in the Midwestern breeze soon.
-James
It's already flowing in the breeze somwhat, well, strong wind more aptly put. It's so WEIRD to feel the air tug on my hair. The sensation is still quite novel. :-)
Thanks, James!
Mouse
Wow! That mini-tail(thats how i call them. Mine is mini too:-P) Looks awesome. The bandana looks great on you as well. I cant wait to see how your hair will look a year from now. Keep it growing and please, Keep us posted.
Take care Mouse
Yes, Mini-tail with a capital "M!" I keep messing with it and thinking about how it will be different in a month, a season, a year... Exciting!
Thanks, Chris!
Mouse
Congratulations. Just think of all the people (male and female) who can't even get any hair into a tail.
In no (well, almost) time you'll be able to get most of it in a tail. Keep it growing!
Tracy
Oh, it'll take a while, but I figure years of hair to enjoy is worth the months of awkwardness.
Mouse
Nice progress there, Mouse! Is this the first time growing your hair out? How are you liking it so far? Keep up the good work...
Thanks! Technically I had long hair when I was very young (around five), but obviously I don't remember it well. I'm really enjoying the process, the little surprises each month, the way my hair gets in my eyes and blows in the wind. It's not always easy of course, but even when my hair is being an annoyance, I know that it's going in the right direction.
Mouse
Enjoy,
Bruce
Thanks, Bruce! At least I know I'll be able to do SOMETHING with it when the July heat wave rolls around.
Mouse
ah yes,it's a relief when you are able to let your neck breath a little bit on hot days like that ey?congrats on the ponytail!!oh..and that lake is lookin pretty sweet!take care ^_^
I love my little pond. I get a great view of it from my windows.
I'm going to appreciate the ponytail even more when summer rolls around. Thanks for the support!
Looks great - looks like it was a warm day there!
- Oren
Thanks, Oren! Minnesota set a daily record high: 81 degrees Farenheight.
Mouse
Congratulations on achieving your first target a small ponytail I bet it made you smile when you was wearing in a small tail even looks like you are wearing a bandana ponytail to !
Axel
Yeah, it was pretty neat when I realized that I was actually wearing a ponytail around. Thanks, Axel!
Mouse
Heeey, thats really coming along nicely. I love the bandana, thats something i have never tried but maybe i should, also i love the leather headbands that Justin makes/uses.
Well anyway, keep up the great work.
Thanks, Dave! Watch out for the bandanas, they're addictive. I've already bought five of them. :-)
Mouse
=o)
Thanks!
Happy ponytail lol! Congratulations, really, this an achievement everyone yearns for. Really really thick hair, not fine like when you were a child. Like the bandanna! ;)
I also forgot, how long have you been growing your hair?
Thanks! I've been growing it for about 8 and a half months now from a 3/4 inch buzz cut (shorter in the back).
Mouse
Wow, such a difference between your hair now and when you first posted here. You are starting to get some nice length now - congrats! Thats a nice view of where you live too.
Thanks Pablo! I'm thinking of an avatar change pretty soon, probably next month sometime.
And I love my little townhouse that overlooks the pond, especially when the trumpeter swans arrive later in the spring.
Mouse
Congratulations on the first tail! I think it's a good style for short hair, but I doubt most guys could get away with that. You had it right in time for the warm weather.
On the topic of weather, I've now got a glimpse of how miserable I'll be here in the summer - I don't have an air conditioner. Good thing I'm missing all of July in Svalbard! It's pretty soothing even now knowing I'll be dog sledding and running away from polar bears in a time I'd normally be sitting in my car with the AC on full blast trying to get away from the heat.
And to think this was only 3 weeks ago-
Almost brings a tear to me eye!
It's workable for casual days and kung fu class, but not really good for work yet. Hair just sticks out all over the place, but once I can get the side hair tucked in things will improve.
Cool! I wish I was going to be someplace colder for the summer. I really don't do heat all that well (even Monday was rather warm for me), and I'm happier with snow on the ground. The photo above was me three weeks ago. I just had to go get a blizzard in a blizzard.
Take care,
Mouse
I definitely do not do heat well at all either. Everybody I know likes to joke about how I'm hypersensitive to the heat, but I think the reality of the situation is that there's really not that much joking to it! I used to cave in and live with my grandparents in Two Harbors at the expense of every commodity I'd have otherwise - just because I could not bare the heat in the Twin Cities (Which never has been very hot relative to most other states in the first place.) I think my body just has trouble adjusting because we go through such extremes in both the summer and winter. I'd love to live in a naturally controlled climate. Iceland!!!!
Funny that you had a blizzard after that blizzard - I did the same thing!
Awesome, Mouse! (And glad to see the bandana -- they are great to wear shopping -- think 'Bandanas for Bananas')

"Bandanas for Bananas." I love it! :-)
Now if only I could wear the bandana to work all would be well.
Thanks, Shawn, and I hope your Manlocks are still progressing nicely.
