I think we all have this, but especially for those with straight hair, that there is always a large amount of hair that just won't fit into a tie and whenever wind blows from behind you hair gets in your face, tickles you and just plain annoying. Using alice bands can help but it only works so far, and if I was gonna use alice band I might as well wear my hair loose. I think gel or hair spray would work but I dont know how damaging they are to hair and I hate the feeling of gel on my hair. Sometimes curly hair is better once its in a tail because the curlieness tends to lock in loose hair...
Hair ties are fine as long as they aren't too tight. You can tie your hair loose and wear a hat. A hat will work well.
I can't wear a hat at work, plus I hate wearing hat in the summer, it makes it hotter...
Hey man,
I just suffered until most of it went back, but there will always be a few flyaways. I use alice bands on windy days and that is by far the best way ive found yet. I wear my hair back a lot, but only use loose hair ties with no metal part.
peace and best wishes

What are "alice bands"?
An alice band is a hair band used to hold hair back behind the ears, like Alice in Wonderland. I don't use them 'cause their a little girlie. The non-girlie alternative is to put on sunglasses and push them up on top of your head. Cheating? You bet! But it works! ;)
