Anyone use either? It's starting to get warm here in FL, and with my hair long enough, sometimes it blows in my face or gets in my way while working. I am wondering if using hair spray or gel is a safe remedy to keep my hair in place.
The problem I am having is that my bangs and some of the side hairs aren't long enough to reach the back and stay in the tie, so it looks like crap after a while and starts to get annoying again.
All help is appreciated :)

Tell me about it. Down here in miami the humidity is unbearable. This humidity makes my hair extremely frizzy. I suppose any gel that doesn't contain any alcohol wouldn't hurt. Try tresseme sleek gel. It aint got the alcohols.
I use L'oreal Melting Gel. Luckskind recommended it.
Gel isn't going to keep your hair from blowing in the wind, but it will help tame frizz.

Thanks for your thoughts. I read something online that said hairspray contains agents which are designed to remove nutrients from the root of the hair in attempt to make it straighter. I am not sure how true this is, but I don't want to risk damaging my hair at this point simply in attempt to make my hair neater.
I am considering using gel instead, but gel probably won't have as much hold. We'll see how it goes.
Either way, I used hairspray yesterday just for kicks, and I found it to be annoying. Usually I only shower every few days, but if I start gelling or spraying, I will have to shower everyday. Not sure if this is good or bad.

Interesting coincidence; i was just experiencing the same problem on Sunday. We had a warm windy day, the kind where the wind changes direction constantly. I don't like gels and sprays personally, because for me they seem to cause more tangles instead of preventing them. I am going to either use a tie even though like you said, it doesn't look very good, or wear a hat. I don't like hats all that much because in summer they're hot. there's no good solution for me but hats and ties are better than a mass of tangles.
