Whats better to use for someone starting out growing their hair long?
Matt
I'd have to say hairbrush.....but thats only because i've never used a comb lol :D
Brush is always better. Have not iused a comb for 20 or more years.
This topic is brought up a lot (in fact, just scroll down a bit, and you'll see it not too far down). As I've said before, I'll say again...
I use a wide-toothed comb on my hair when it's wet, and all full of conditioner, and/or just after the conditioner is rinsed out. It helps "wring out" the water content from long hair, and is less likely to damage the hair when it's still wet (hair is at its weakest when still wet or damp.
I use a brush on my hair when it's DRY ONLY. For years I've been given this advise by longhaired women. I routinely dry-brush my hair between shampooings, in order to: stimulate the scalp; help increase blood flow there (which nourishes the hair roots); and to also help transfer the scalp's natural oils down the hair shaft to the ends (where it nedds it the most).
Everybody's hair is different, so you have to take that into account. And, you'll certainly get answers that disagree with what I just said above... But, I've had my hair long for a long time, and this advise has worked very well for me over the years, --- so, I have no plan to change what's worked so successfully for me for so long; nor plan to change my advise to others to do otherwise, either (lol)!! Give it a try, anyway!
Happy growing!!!
