I think I might be recalled into the military for a day... but I dont know if my hair will be a problem. When I served in the military I seen recalled people with mid back hair and holding M-16's in ways that would get any regulars in deep trouble... but I dont know, because guys I talked to made it sound like its a possibility. So please pray that I wont get my hair cut against my will...
Oh, I'm so sorry Tai Fu! I didn't know there's military only for one? WEll , if it's for one day it will be really PATHETIC to cut your hair? I hope that doesn't happen to you and even if they try don't let them!
You have to cut your hair so you can drill for one day? You are in my thoughts.
Some time a month or so ago someone posted they, or one of their friends, were in the army reserve (one weekend a month, two weeks a year...unless there's a war on), and said they managed to keep their long hair by wearing a wig every time they had to go. They managed to keep their long hair that way. Hopefully they'll see your post and be able to give you some more advice.

I wore a wig as part of a costume for a Halloween party last year. Out of 30 people there, only about three people knew me. It was kind of a cheap wig, didn't fit right and I couldn't wait to take it off. At the end of the night, several people noticed my long, flowing hair and said things like "oh, I thought you had short hair" or "I didn't know you had long hair!" So, it worked. And it felt great to go back to long hair! It seemed so wrong, and so not me to try and pass myself off as short hair, haha!

I used a wig back in the 80's when fresh out of college, job hunting, it was an expensive wig for the time, yet with synthetic hair, and it hid all my long hair (mid back), and I looked like I had a short haircut for the time (mid-ear) which was acceptable, and the hair did not touch the collar. It looked like I had thick hair. The fact is I found a job where long hair was OK, so I kept the wig only for parties, and it did fool quite a lot of people.
