Don't bother flying to New York, London, or Milan to check out the latest Spring hair fashions: just step outside, with camera in-hand, and let the favorite hair stylist of longhairs do his thing... or, is it "her" thing? You choose. Either way, The Wind will arrange your hair in a most creative of ways, --- beats even the most expensive Parisian doo!
- Ken in San Francisco
(the following pics were taken in '04 and '05... I broke my camera in '06!)
This doo caught the GQ Fashion Police as I walked down the runway...
"Not enough hair spray!"
"Too much height in front!"
"Shorter bangs!"
"Too out-of-control!"
My wild-mannered hair stylist just smiled, calmly stating, "Don't worry, just wait another second or 2: I'll rearrange it totally differently, just to please you!"
>> Tsk, whateva! ;)
I think that looks really cool. My hair isn't that long yet, but it's getting there. The other day I lay down on the floor and my hair flew back and to the sides. It was kind of neat to see it all fanned/spread out on the carpet (and that was just looking over my shoulder - made me realize how far I've come now and how long my hair is getting).
Good philosophy but when the wind gets hold of my hair I sometimes look like Medusa, my friends would disagree and say it has nothing to do with wind. Ha!
Hmmm, yeah I guess when you look as scary as you do, the camera is bound to break eventually. JUST KIDDING!!! Ha ha, you set yourself up for that one, Ken! Seriously though, digital cameras keep coming down in price and better in quality, you should pick up a new one, and be careful with it this time!
Back to the original point though, the wind does make for some interesting hair styles. (and I was just about to fly to New York or Paris for a new doo - thanks Ken, I'll save a bundle of money now!) ;)
I personally like going outside on a warm, slightly windy day and letting my hair dry outside. It tends to wavy and have a bit more volume, and has that (slightly) messy look that is all the rage these days. One day I met up with some people with my hair like that, wearing Ray Ban sunglasses and a motorcycle jacket. Someone immediately said I looked like a rock star!
Photographers stalking me everywhere, I got bombarded with endless fashion-advise questions, while one of them got this close-up shot...
"Mr. Cowboy, will this year's Spring Fashions ruin the return of the Summer buzz-cut this year?
Me: "YES!!"
"Mr. Cowboy, is it true you'll be in a rumored Summer blockbuster movie, 'Longhairs in Love'?"
Me: "YES!!"
"And tell us, Mr. Cowboy, famed Hair Maverick that you are, is it true that you are secretly planning to run for President of the US, --- and that you plan to legislate a ban on all short haircuts on males over 2 1/2?"
Me: "3 1/2. That's all males over 3 1/2, --- and I'm TIRED of the press misquoting me on this!"
LOL.. Hey Ken, That is some marvelous hair! I can't wait to see Mr.Cowboy's blockbuster hit! Mr. Cowboy for president!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
lol!! ^_^
yeap, mr.wind is surely the best stylist around..and the best thing about it is...he doesn't charge a dime either!!(unless you start waving dollar bills in the wind, lol!!)
"Mr. Cowboy, can we please get just one shot of you with your hair out of your face?"
Me: "That depends on whether my trusted hair stylist, Mr. Wind, will agree that it will not ruin my 'image'..."
Hey Ken,
They are some lovely spring pictures you have taken there you it's great to see the different colours of your hair. After that's why we grow our hair our just for windswept look just to prove we can. Sorry shorthairs you can't do that.
Keep it growing and my best to of you.
Cheers,
John.
"And is it also true, Mr. Cowboy, that Tom Cruise will be your running mate?"
Me: "Hmmmm..."
Hey Ken :-)
All you have said is SO TRUE. Isn't it great having long hair and feeling the freedom that comes with it! Yours looks so fabulous and you are so correct.........it's always in style or styled for you by the winds. Those that have never experienced it don't know what they are missing.
Thanks for posting what you have for the other guys to see that are on their way up.
Hope you are having a great day!
All the best -
Justin~
Hi Ken,
Thanks for all the inspirational and fun hairstyles, Ken. Your mane is looking fabulous in its blonde glory. I especially like the declarations you would make if you run for president, lol, let's ban buzzcuts once and for all!
All the best,
David
Now David be careful or you will get Justin starting to worry hehe!!!
Cheers,

Lovely wind... I love it, I know it's considered to damage hair but I don't care. It makes it alive and I love travelling in my city's trams with my head out of the window and my hair swinging with the wind.
Great photos, Ken and hope you're enjoying spring!
wind does not cause damage.all that wind does is generate tangles.tangles don't cause damage either.it's the WAY that you detangle your hair that can cause damage.namely,if you detangle the wrong way.
I couldn't do that today unless I was going for the wet look.Got 4" of rain in less than an hour. It's still raining.
