I haven't had the same amopunt of free-time that I used to have to thank or comment to everyone individually; but I truly much appreciate all the nice replies, --- and thought I'd send y'all an opulent Spring bouquet to emphasize my gratitude!
For those of you who live in chillier climes, Northern California is now hitting it's peak for Spring bulbs in full bloom (OK, OK... I know I'm probably "rubbing it in" by even mentioning it here, considering I know some of you are probably still looking at snow on the ground: but hey, whoever said I didn't have a mean streak in me? he he he!). This is a pic taken from the deck of one of my gardens I've taken care of.
And for those of you who live "down under" in Oz... Well, you'll have to wait a full 6 month to take pics like this!
Anyway, a happy belated [Northern Hemisphere] Spring to all longhairs!

Here's another hair pic taken on a windy Spring day in May of '04. I was hiking on a trail in the Santa Cruz mountains when this particular pic was self-taken. Appropriately, the park was called, "Windy Hill Forest Preserve"...
Ahhhh... A face that only a mother could love (in this case, I'm referring to, "Mother Nature")...
I stole that line from a joke that was going around when Ronald Reagan was in the Oval Office (originally started by Jay Leno, I think), because everyone wondered how good ol' Ronnie could have such perfect and young-looking dark hair.
Truthfully: I do not, I repeat, I do NOT dye my hair. Occasionally I'll color my beard a little, yes (especially considering how white my beard & mustache are, in comparison to the colors still found in my hair). Proof of what I say is in the fact that you can also see a lot of white in my hair, as well as beard, --- just look closely... and thoroughly!
This pic was taken at Gold Beach, Oregon, in May of '04. As you can see, I was hangin' out with some other "drifters" there...
Lol, another set of cool nature photos! Your hair binding with it pretty well. :)
In this pic, you can better see all the while streaks mixed with the blonde. In my mind, I'm still 23. But then when I wake up and look in the mirror in the morning, I realize I sure look like hell for that age!!
To all us "old fart" longhairs: I'm so glad I'm not the only longhaired geezer on the planet, --- so a huge THANK YOU!!!!
To all you young'uns: I wish I had grown my mane out when I was your age... So, what're you waiting for?? GROW!!!!!
Thanks again for all your nice comments on my windy hair pics!

PS - The flowers I am lying next to are a frequently-grown California beach plant that originally came from South Africa, commonly called, "Ice Plant" (Aizoaceae, for those who want to know the Latin name). It's basically a very soft & squooshy succulent ground cover for sand dunes, which blooms very profusely after our winter rains. My favorite ice plants have a shockingly brilliant pink flower that Bill C. describes as "Hippy Pink"!
Cool photos Ken both of the flowers and of yourself. You must be a superb photographer when it comes to photos of roses, Redwood Forests and nature in general. Not just everybody has an eye for getting the right angles or whatever to come up with some of the photos that you have ala your website which is so fantastic!
I would say that up here in Oregon where I live,(meaning about 550 miles above CA.) that right now we are about 5 days behind.) But still, isn't it just beautiful outside now. :-)
Justin~
Everything's blooming in DC too. Cherry blossoms! I would take pictures of those too, but I doubt I could improve on all the photos that have been taken over the years. Plus, I really don't feel like walking down to the tidal basin. Yeh. I've seen them many times, and I'm lazy.
What beautiful Spring flowers!
Thanks for brightening up my day. It's been dark and stormy here in OK, for 2 days now. =o( I HATE tornado season!
I'm originally from So. CA and miss it sometimes...I've been to SF a couple of times and always thought it was so beautiful there! Loved just looking at the Golden Gate Bridge and going to Fisherman's Wharf...
Just the drive alone up HWY 101, through the Red Woods and stuff is awesome. =o)
Nice hair! Nice flowers, too. And I think it must be fairly common for bears to go white before hair.
It's Spring here in the Atlanta area too, And for us, that means pollen. Those who keep track of such things say a pollen count of over 120 is "extremely high", and that's the highest rating they have. Well, here, it's been over 5000 all week (Ah-choo!). You can tell it's pollen season when you go outside and find that your car is yellow, no matter what color it was painted originally. Thank God it rained this morning and washed that stuff out of the air.
Those are some nice looking flowers!
Actually the last few winters were very mild here and a lot of the bulbs, fresias, daffodils especially, came up early in the middle of winter about mid July. It's not really cold enough where I live in the Blue Mountains to grow tulips but I usually trick them by putting them in the fridge for a few months.
Take care!

Very, very nice Ken, hope you don't mind if I jump on the garden-braggin'...I have the blessing (curse?) of a green thumb and a fair amount of land
Who would think that Iris (I have over 50 varieties) would thrive in the desert??
for those of you who like Iris
