Hello Everyone,
As April in Québec is the Month of Autism, a lot of activities are announced to the public on the subject of autism and asperger's syndrome. One of them was a TV appearance, on a local talk show, where I discuss my asperger's syndrome, side by side with a local specialist, and a mom of a child with a similar condition as mine.
The hosts were very respecting in their handling of the matter, and on this show, I dressed sharp, and let my hair flow down my shoulders. Never was my hair adressed, it was as if they have seen guys with long hair before, and I was treated with respect.
I posted a direct link to the show, which unfortunately, for most of you is in French.
Have a nice day,
Georges

Very Cool Georges. Hair looks good too. You may become a celebrity now!

Hello again,
For those who do not understand French, and simply are curious about my hair, just wait 39 seconds, and you will see me.
Despite the drizzle, I was lucky not to have a "bad hair day".
Have a nice day,
Georges in Montreal
Hey, I have Asperger's syndrome too.
Unfortunately, though, despite being in my fourth year of French in high school, I can only understand bits and pieces of that video. The Canadian accents also make it a little difficult, because I'm used to French accents. I'll need to brush up, watch some French movies, etc., since I'm going on a trip to France this summer.
Hello,
This is me, in Brest, in 2005, trying out a musketeer sword, which made the sword merchant laugh, with my mustache, and long hair.
I hope you enjoy your trip to France, I hope you do not just stick to Paris, as there are very interesting to see outside Paris, and using the TGV you will see various towns, and areas.
If you want to be off the beaten path, I suggest you visit Brest, in Brittany, and surrounding towns, like Landerneau, and historic places, like St-Malo, or Rouen. Near Paris, you can visit Versailles, or the lesser known Renaissance museum called Chateau Ãcouan. Just research the subjects and you may even discover interesting areas.
Brittany, which is the northwestern part of the hexagon, has a bigger "longhair" community than the rest of France.
Please post pictures when your get there.
Have a nice day,
Georges in Montreal.
Thanks man. But actually, it's a school-organized trip, and I can't exactly explore. We're going to St. Malo and Paris.
Ex-Québecer here! I watched the video (et oui, j'ai ben {bien} compris l'entrevue). The quality of the video wasn't that good, but you looked just fine. Although, I've noticed that guys with long hair are more common in Québec. Whenever I go back for a visit, I tend to fit in a bit better than in Barrie, Ontario.
I have a co-op student (stagiaire) working with me who has asperger's syndrome. If nobody had told me, I wouldn't have known. Although he's got short hair, he's commented on my hair (positively).
It was nice to "meet" one of our members (not in person, but the next best thing).
Take care,
Peter
