http://www.geocities.com/haircut_rules/agenda.html
i accidently came there, i thought it was about shorthair, but it is actually anti-longhair!, it's hole site with a messageboard and stuff
not only is it fascist, but it advocates giving longhairs forced haircuts. as such, it is a direct violation of the geocities terms of service and therefore i reported it to geocities. i encourage all concerned to do the same. i can tolerate opinions that differ from mine but i will not abide the suggestion that it's somehow morally ok to force a haircut on someone while he's asleep.
What gives them the right to force thier beliefs on other people? You don't see us long-haired folk telling everybody to grow out their hair. God, this reminds me of my Christian / Buddhist argument the other day, ugh.
That might be the reason for the disappearance of item 6: Probably because people like john [bittwise] complained!
Just saw it about 5 minutes ago, Alan...
It's still there.
-J
(who just went to the content violation reporting form and sent the URL in...)
Sure! That used to be item 7. When I visited the web page a couple of hours ago, item 6 was skipped! There used to be at least 7 items, then people complained about item 6 (whatever it said) and it was pulled. Now the item 7 after it became the new item 6!
the page does seem to be modified. this may be merely a troll site as some of you say- not worth taking seriously, but if someone advocates doing physical harm/violence to another person for ANY reason they have crossed the line. while i personally have no problem with these ppl showing the world what narrow-minded a-holes they are, but if just one nut takes their suggestion on another person they (and geocities) are party to assault which is a crime in all 50 states.
Ahhh... duh. :) Still is pretty bad, if you ask me, tho.

Man!!!! That guy's wife must have left him for a man with long hair or something. He needs to get a life if he has a web site dedicated to keeping your hair buzzed off. I used to keep my hair buzzed off but I hated the way it looked. It will be funny the day he dies and gets up to heaven to see God and Jesus having longhair. Buzzcuts belong in Hell!!!!!! That guy is probably a Nazi wannabe or either the AntiChrist
My personal opinion is that the whole site is a "troll" site, just to set off us longhairs.
My other opinion on this subject is that the high & tights that this poor sap advocates have exposed his poor brain to too much sun, which has caused some sadly irreversible brain damage. Or, he's just a narrow-minded, redneck bigot. (I can say that. I'm from rural Texas, which unfortunately has more than its fair share of them.)
Scott (of the long hair)
It's interesting that they always say, "THIS SITE DOES NOT ADVOCATE FORCED HAIRCUTS!"
However, there is an individual who advocates forced haircuts!
They only just put that disclaimer up today after several of you "longhaired rebels" (their quotes) told GeoCities about them.
I put a message up on their board in defense of you guys (the things I do for you longhaired men, hehehe!). Just in case they delete it, here it is:

And calling grown men "girlies" because of something as trivial as hair length isn't disrespectful? Sure sounds like it to me. I have male friends with long hair who served proudly in the armed forces of Sweden, Finland and the U.S., got honorable discharges, are responsible husbands and fathers, and yes, they are men!
Remember, when you point one finger, you have three pointing back at you!
If someone makes the decision to buzz his hair, that's his deal. We all have our support groups, this is one for the ultrashort cuts and the lifestyle that goes with them, and that's fine. But I must politely ask: Do you really have to glorify your way by cutting down others?
Sincerely,
Beth

But in the end, dealing with those guys will probably be a waste of time. I agree that their site is probably done to get people's backs' up, and that's why I didn't unleash on them really hard or anything. Although it was tempting to type, "..because that's what jealous, backstabbing GIRLIES do!" as the last sentence of my post above! :D
Well said!
I would've... But, then again, that's just my opinion.
-J
thank you for your support... though i suspect your even minded post was deleted because it threatened their narrow mindset. the SITE may not advocate forced haircuts but it's author does. if the offending items have been deleted i'm satisfied- as i feel quite strongly that they have a right to their opinion & to express it... sadly they seem unable to reciprocate- which only serves to reinforce my opinion that longhairs TEND to be more open minded and intelligent... less threatened by those who differ from them (us).
I always hear how the sun can damage your hair. I spend a good bit of time out in the sun especially in the summer. What could it do to my hair???
Looks like we all should report this site to Geocities TOS. It certainly advocates actions against the will of another person, which is a form of civil rights violation.
Here are my responses to each of these "reasons" on why guys shouldn't have long hair.
1] Animals may want to reside there. (I don't think you would want to say that to a hot babe with long hair. Besides, if you have a guy who takes care of his hair right, infestation is not a problem.)
2] It looks too 70's man! (Or sixties, if you want to say that. However, my decision was inspired by both Japanese anime and Medieval history.)
3] If you walk into a store with a female, the shop owner may say "May I help you ladies?". (In which you just simply be polite in responding to the shop owner's mistake. He/she will take it with good humour, unless that person was an asshole.)
4] It gets all ratty when riding with the top down, or the window open in your car. (Two things that will fix that: Hair ties and ponytails)
5] You can't go out because you've got to wash your hair tonight, and that takes an hour. (Exaggeration. Also, a responsible person would prepare themselves before proceeding to what they are going to do, instead of doing it at the last minute.)
6] You walk by a barbershop and see handsome young men getting HnT's, but you can't go in with your long, stringy mop. (That "stringy mop" will not look bad if it's taken care of.)
7] It is so hot outside that you feel like a wet rag, but can't seem to cool off with all that hair in your face and on your neck. (Which is why long hair is particularly popular in cold regions. As for hot regions, we find ways to cool off. Women with long hair can keep cool in hot areas, why is it different for men?)
8] People look at you as if you are from another planet, as nowdays nobody really look like this anymore. (In comparison to people with numerous piercings --no offense--, long hair is merely a walk in the park in terms of outrageousness. Besides, uniqueness adds character.)
9] Police pull you over for the least little infraction to see if you are smoking a doobie because you fit the profile of a person that would. (A rather unreasonable assumption, and having long hair is something that does not meet just cause for a pull over.)
10] You insist upon keeping the hair, even though your parents, friends, boss and family hate the look and find that you are just a little offbeat. (Because it's not their hair, so it's not their decision, nor is it their problem.)
11] It is feminine. (An opinion borne from a stereotype.)
12] It is outdated. (Style is highly relative.)
13] It requires too much maintenance. (Goes with the territory. In one respect, it shows that we long hairs are not lazy with personal hygine.)
14] It is a disgrace to manhood! (Really? I've seen quite a few long hairs who are actually very honourable men. So much for disgrace.) - Reinhart
One of the quotes from this site:
2] Every man should experience a headshave once.
I experienced that after my stroke....never again. Also this
site states several times they do not support forced haircuts.
Sounds like they do....
Guys,
This is too rich! I just noticed a message from "rich" who dis'd the shorthair boyz over on Haircut Reserves by posting a message that he didn't want a "Timothy McVeigh haircut!" A little bit harsh, perhaps. To the point though! And something we can use the next time someone tries slamming us for being "unkempt" or un-American. Nice going Rich!
Madoc
Good deal! Get them where it hurts!

"bluesguys" and all,
Uh, guys how 'bout we take a chill pill and cool out?
I have Longhair. I like my Longhair. I'm going to be keeping my Longhair for some time to come. Yet I also recognize that some guys like their hair short. Great. Good for them. So what? Why get bent over it? Yes, what the "Haircut Reserves" advocates is nothing that we Longhairs want. OK, fair enough. So what?
Their site appears pretty juvenile. It also appears tailor made for flaming. It's troll bait. Posting on it, especially after reading their message board instructions which state "Comments supporting male longhairism will be deleted as they serve no useful purpose here." That makes it pretty clear they are going to be as zealous and close minded about things as they can be. Great. Good for them. So what?
Why should we get all bent out of shape when others express views different from ours? The Internet is an awfully big place. Let them stew in their own juices of their own narrow minded group think.
You'll notice that the "Haircut Reserves" posts this disclaimer: "THIS SITE DOES NOT ADVOCATE FORCED HAIRCUTS!" in several places throughout their site. Yeah, it is pretty lame. But it is enough. When I first went through the site I thought it some exercise in dark humor. A lot of people miss such sarcasm. Especially if it is well done. Looking over their "Mach 3" message board though, with its 1,200 some odd messages, convinced me otherwise. These guys have staked out their own little corner of the Net and are making a go of it. Great. Good for them. So what?
Are we all that insecure with our Longhair that we get so offended by some short hairs being emphatic about their opinions? Come on guys! Chill out! Relax. Find a good friend who appreciates a real mane on a real man and let it go.
Those guys over on "Haircut Reserves" will continue living their narrow minded lives no matter what we say or do and so they should. For as long as they have the right to express their opinions and shave their hair so short their heads look like lumpy Q balls then so do we have the right to express our opinions and grow our hair out to show the world its beauty and its masculinity.
In Longhair,
Madoc
I must be really board tonight. I just went over to the Mach 3 hyperboard and read through some of their messages. While I was doing so I noticed that an entire thread was deleted. It was the one in which Beth called some of the guys for not just being pro short hair but for being anti-Longhair. Another guy, a Longhaired ex-military guy, chimed in after that and told the buzz cut boyz to chill out with attacking other men for being themselves. Nothing explicitly pro Longhair for that would violate the Mach 3's policy of "messages supporting longhairism."
I finished reading that thread and then went further downstream to another thread. When I came back to the top level the entire "anti- anti-longhair" thread was gone. Wow! I have never seen a thread get pulled so fast. I guess the boys who run that site are truly insecure about anything which challenges their groupthink. This is not just a question of pulling messages which are not germane to the purpose of the board or of pulling "offensive" posts. None of what was expressed in this particular thread was any of that. It was however, a divergent view. One that dared to air the original thought: can't we just be individuals and respect each other for that?
Pretty sad if you ask me. No, I still support the right of these guys to express themselves and be as pro short hair and as anti-Longhair as they want. So long as they are just exercising their free speech rights and continue to respect ours. That is the way it should be. The freedom they enjoy is the freedom we enjoy as well. That doesn't mean I don't think they are a bunch of insecure and immature fools just spoiling for a way to validate themselves and their pettiness. Narrow minded groupthink does that to some folks.
Later,
Madoc
On the "part 1" page I like the picture of the guy with his long hair out behind him!
The reasons they give that men should not have long hair are just absurd:
1. "Vain" - There are also short haired men who admire themselves in the locker room after working out more than the author thinks they should, or spend what the author thinks is an excessive amount of time taking care of their appearance.
2. "Unhygenic" - It does take more effort to keep long hair clean than to keep short hair clean. However, there are many long haired people of both genders who successfully keep up on their personal grooming and do not provide a haven for lice; some such conscientious people even work in the food industry.
3. "Conformist" - Some very short haired men suffer mockery and insults. So do some long haired men. So what?
4. "Lazy" - As noted above, taking good care of long hair takes more time than getting a frequent haircut and taking care of short hair.
5. "Unhappy" - Depends on the individual! I happen to think I'm fairly close to psychologically balanced.
We find the real reason in the last paragraph: "girlie-haired". The author implies here that: women or girls should have long hair; men must show that they are superior to women; men having long hair are failing to obviously show their superiority to women. I'm not interested in conveniencing people whose reasons for me to change my behavior are based on sexist, misogynist, ad hominem, just plain bogus reasoning to justify their angry attitudes!
Part 2 makes it very clear that the author's opposition to men with long hair is that they "look like girls", completely ignoring the well documented evidence that both men and women have had both long and short hair in most parts of the world, in most of human history. (Yes, I can provide the citations for looking up this historical fact at a university library.)
Someone who thinks that it's a good idea to get someone else to change his behavior by getting him too drunk to realize what he's doing, is not a worthy opponent of my keenly honed debating skills. Besides, I've already written more than the entire contents of that site and my high level of self-discipline now requires me to wash the accumulated rodents out of my hair!

This site advocates buzz cuts. I can speak from experience, you
don't want to have one. In November of 98 I had hair down to my waist. Then I suffered a stroke. Next thing I knew It was a month later and my long hair was gone. Now I'm determined to grow it back.
did the poeple of the hospital cut your hair???? wtf is that, because they don't like it they gonna cut it???
wtf if i ever met the one that cutted your again, i would pass him away with alcohol and give him a mohawk, if he says 'wtf is that', i say, 'oh i liked it that way, so i did it to you'
or was it needed to shave of your hair for the operation? (i don't see why though)
Yes it was needed for the operation.
Was it for brain surgery?
Had a stroke caused by an AVM (something I was
born with.) Had hair down to my waist before
that.
This is Propaganda against Men who choose to wear Long Hair.
negative associations to try to convince Young Men who are thinking of growing their out not too.
There will always be Bigots out there and this is definitely a site put up by Bigots IMHO.
whoever put this up has some form of Hatred towards Longhairs, or obviously they wouldn't post such disinformation regarding Men who choose to wear their hair long.
you might want to consider contacting hatewatch.org since this could constitute a hatred towards a group of people who choose to look different.

Hi, here's my pic with my hair at the 1.5 yr mark. It certainly doesn't look unhygienic and I'm DEFINITELY a HAPPY man :)))
Here's staring at you, fascists.
I quote Curt from their message board,
"I went through the 70's men's hair thing where the ONLY way to be accepted and "fit in" was to have long hair---NO CHOICE WHATSOEVER. PERIOD. Is this what you want to go back to? Because I will NOT!!"
Irony central anyone?
i guess if 90% of the men will wear long hair in 2010, curt will let his hair grown, lol.
Or when it gets fashionable to amputee your left pinky, i guess curt will ampute his left pinky, lol!
After checking out this site, I would definitely say they've crossed the line, although it appears they have since added a disclaimer regarding the forced haircut issue and made a couple of other small changes. they seem to contradict themselves though, one place they say you're just being conformist by wanting long hair, it's no big deal, just don't bother to get it cut; then they go and say you won't have time to go out because it takes too long (one hour) to wash your hair; which is it?
As to it being too hot, that's why the body perspires, and it happens all over, not just the head and neck, if it's still too hot even tied back, you can always wear shorts or remove your shirt; women can't even go topless in most places and they seem to deal with it.
By the way, great hair Jin, I can see why you're a happy man!
Thanks FreeSpirit000 :)
