Hey guys, it's a hair washing day for me and I'd like to try oil on my hair and see what it feels like afterwards, but I'm not quite sure how to go about doing this, since I've never used oil on my hair before.
Do I apply the oil before or after washing my hair? How much oil should I use? How long do I leave it in for? What oil do you recommend?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance,

A good thing to use is serum.
When using it only use a tiny amount, a couple of drops and run it throughout your hair.
I have very fine and thin hair,so oil works extremely well for me. We had a delightful woman here (Sherry...hope you are still around. You are missed!!) who some years ago shared her technique for deep conditioning with olive oil.
I shampoo my hair, rinse it well, then work in a considerable amount of olive oil and leave it in for as long as time allows. (Sherry recommended cleaning several fish aquariums while waiting ! HA!) for me, usually 10-20 minutes. Then rinse completely with a standard conditioner. Leaves my hair soft, shiny and manageable. Really tames my fly-a-ways and frizzies for a long time.
I also will use just a few drops of jojoba oil (which is really a wax) when grooming.
Good Luck

I always apply mine right after the shower, when the hair is wet. Personally, I oil the last 2 inches or so of my hair, because that's the only part that tends to get a little dry. The amount that you need depends on what type of oil it is and how much of your hair it is going to be applied to. A general rule that I've found to be accurate is that the thicker the oil is, the less you need. Good luck.
The last inch or so of my hair is very dry, and even deep conditioning hasn't solved it. I don't wanna cut them off cause it's quite a lot to me, so does a small amount of Olive Oil sort out dryness?
Either one... or BOTH (!); but mostly I apply it after a shampoo & conditioning, when my hair is still damp.
Just put about the size of a coin in the palm of your hand, --- and only apply it to the ends and lower half of your mane.
I just leave it (all day, in other words).
My favorite is Kukui nut oil; but also Almond oil, Jojoba, or even Olive oil are all great...
Hope that helps!
