Well, I made a big mistake about 9 months ago, and cut my long hair off. After growing it for 3 years, how stupid of me. Anyway, I pretty much decided right after that to let it grow again. I'm in the awkward stage, and my hair flips out like crazy in the back and on the sides. The only way I've found that really works is using some gel and blowdrying. I try not to do it terribly often, but there are times when my hair needs to be neat and not all over the place. Would blowdrying once a week or so be enough to damage the hair?
Don't worry. If you use it on a low heat level it shouldn't damage it and I suppose you'll stop doing that when it gets longer so it won't flip out so much. Though, do you really need once every weak to look so neat? I'd rather enjoy that messy stage lol
If your hair is dry, it is more prone to damage with blowdryer. If it's an olier type it shouldn't be such a deal in your case.
Anyway, even if it's dry type hair, once again if you blowdry it on a low setting and not too close to your hair it musn't damage it at all. Sorry to hear you cut it, have luck in your future growth! :)
Assuming you condition your hair often blowdrying shouldn't cause any problems. On the occasion I've had to blowdry my hair I run my fingers through the hair as i'm drying it.
A tip to avoid damage with blow drying is to have it on a low heat level, and more importantly, have the blow dryer ABOVE your head and aim downwards onto the hair. This avoids the hot air blowing against the natural angle of the hair and lifting the cuticles.
If you blowdry the hair correctly it will cause no damage at all.
Heating the hair pushes the cuticle(top layer) flat and makes it more shiny, manageable and just looking better!
Just don't do it too much.
you must have gotten through this stage before...what did you do the first time around?
