Hi everyone,
I just wanted to extend my warm wishes for a Happy Easter to everyone, hope the Easter bunny is good to you today.
Unfortunately, here in Halifax, Nova Scotia, the weatherman forgot it was Easter, and dumped this mess outside my front door last night. (Strangely, we have had VERY little snow this winter, now we're paying for it!) When DOES the next plane depart for the West Coast, think I'll hop on board right now, lol!
David
Barrie, Ontario is currently getting hit with snow as I type this... It looks like the beginning of winter, not the beginning of spring! Sorry, no picture, but it looks kind of like your picture, only the snow is still coming down.
My blog, with more pics and weird stuff
The weather's been weird here too!
It was in the 80's last week but has been in the 40's now the last few days...
Guess Winter wasn't really ready to let go yet. lol
It's a beautiful Easter morning here, 51F/11C, thick green grass is knee deep, and the wildflowers are in bloom all over. Come on out!
Bill
Sounds good, Bill... be right over! ;)
--Rick
Thanks, Bill,
Too bad you couldn't send some of those flowers this way, kind of hard to do over the internet, lol! But I WILL be out your way in 2009, hopefully in Spring to meet some of you guys. I am sure that's the best time of year to be in San Francisco.
David
Ha Ha! I've been thinking the same thing. Here in Vermont we've still got several inches of snow on the ground. Maybe I shouldn't have put the ski's away just yet... Still, warmer weather can't be far off, and in the mean time, your hair can help keep you warm : )
I'm with you, pal!! Here in Chicagoland it's colder today than it was on Christmas and New Year's!
Your "street" certainly looks very nice, but for as what coats everything else? Well, let's just say that it isn't my cup of tea. At least what comes down here doesn't have to be shoveled. But then again, if you HAVE to see that white stuff, just take a 2 hour drive up to Mt. Hood and you'll see plenty..........even in the Summer! (It has also become lately a very good place for people to go, not follow directions and be lost forever.)Oh, how delightful indeed.
Weather here right now Sunny and bright, flowers and trees in leaf and about 65 degrees out as of 10AM.
BUT, I'M STAYING PUT, that is "unless" Bill can figure-out a way to move this place I live in the 500 or so miles south of here. (That being SF where all the neat stuff is, or better yet, Santa Cruz.)
R U going to have a Jelly Bean hunt outside today? What a challenge that would be with what you've got on the ground. Be careful however that your hands don't get 2 cold less yea Bee Stung by Frostbite!
IN ant event
Happy Snowy Easter! :-)
Justin~
HA! Justin!
Need you rub the salt into the wound!!! lol! The sun IS out now, it IS melting, slowly, I would add. But the West Coast is calling.........., need I go on.......
Happy Easter to you as well, Justin!
David
Justin,
You should try our European climate out, it's been very warm all weekend. Certainly not the norm and must be those naughty carbon stuff.
John.B
I will definitely try your European climate very soon! ;) Please check your email re: our trip.
Take care and keep it growin'!
Last Monday, it was 78F in Indiana. After that, the bottom fell out, and we've had freeze warnings every night. My poor tulips are probably shot.
Hi David,
20 degrees centigrade here today, very unseasonal!
John.B
It is pretty cold here in Massachusetts-saw some snow flurries this morning. My little nieces wore winter coats over their Spring outfits. I would be interested if you posted more pics of your area. It is neat to see where other people live.
I hope you had a Happy Easter.
Hi there!
It's great to hear from you, chamogirl! My best to you as always. I'll try to get some more pics of my area in my photojournal over at the LHC, it's probably a bit off topic to post too many here. Massachusetts isn't really that far away from my area, compared to where most people live, we're ALMOST next door neighbours, lol!
All the best,
David
I was in Baltimore when it happened, and snapped this picture (sorry for the poor picture, I should have previewed) from the Window of a friend's house. It was just a dusting, but still out of character. Washington DC had similar conditions, I understand. Southern, yes Southern Maryland apparently had 4 inches in some parts.
And, it's funny you mention moving the the West coast because that's what I'm doing. BTW, as I settle in over the next few months and get adjusted to life out there, I may not have much time for the board, but I'll definitely keep in touch.
Hey, Steve, is it a done deal? Let us hear details, details, details!
Bill
It is 99.99% a done deal. I don't want to discuss the 0.01% for reasons I'll hopefully be able to make clear later. Before I actually hit the road, I'll let you guys know what's up.
Its weird isnt it... they said this winter is supposed to be kinda warm but this spring is unusually cold. Usually this time of the year in Taiwan tempature will soar past 25C and will be hot, but now its around 17-22C and wet as hell. It makes it difficult to finish guitars because humid weather isnt good to guitar finishes...
They were going to have a global warming conference in janurary and they cancelled it because its too cold...
When the global warming came, the polar icebergs started to melt and suddenly we have much more water in the world. This causes more rains, snowing, winds and all the weather is messed up. I hope the gulf stream will keep flowing at least a while longer, or the weather will get completely geschtonkenflapped.
This year was so strong wind, that a half of my chimney (about 3 meters) fell on my roof. It was really scary, but after a closer look, it could happen by much worse way. Somehow it missed the most important stuff up there (like main electricity wire).
Also, here, for a half of winther, there was no winter, but rather a nice, sunny spring (in December).
So, Im completely sure, that the global warming is real. (unlike the president thinks, lol)
Yea I think there is warming, but I dont think there's anything we can do about it.
Calgary was beautiful today. Went for a long ride on the motorcycle into the mountains.
David
Hi All
Here in Melbourne Australia this Easter it has been 25-28 degrees Celsius and we are coming into winter this time of year it is supposed be cooler here and we have not had much rain lately. It must be due to global warming they say it will get warmer in the south and colder in the north.
Come on over bro!!! Seattle Hemp fest in the fall.
