Hey everyone!
Well I'm glad I've found this board because I have a few questions which I would love answered!
OK, well I decided about half a year ago that I would grow my hair long. It's not too long really at the moment, and its longer at the back than at the sides. First off, is this normal? At the sides, it just about covers my ears if I pull it down, but at the back, it goes down to the base of my neck. Is this OK?
Second, my hair has no life really... No natural life, anyway. Is there anything I can do to give it a bit of life? I use volume boosting conditioner, and I have bought some mousse, though I'm not quite sure how to use it properly and how much to put in ect... The reason I ask about this is because I want my hair in the style of David Lee Roth, (http://www.usrarecoins.net/images/DavidLeeRoth8x10.jpg, http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a278/Turnabout206/DavidLeeRoth.jpg), Paul Stanley, (http://image.listen.com/img/356x237/0/5/6/7/517650_356x237.jpg, http://archive.salon.com/people/feature/2000/10/11/stanley/story.jpg) ect... That kind of teased, rocker style. What do I need to do to get my hair like that?
And lastly, I am wondering how to part my hair. My hair naturally parts to the left, but that leaves the right side of my hair very thin on hair, (My hair is quite fine...), so at the moment I've created a center parting in my hair to kind of equal out both sides, but I'm wondering if that's the best thing to do or is there something else I should do?
I know that's a lot of questions, but I'd really appreciate any help anyone can give me! Thanks very much in advance!
Welcome!!!
You have come to the right place to find answers and support.
1. It is perfectly normal for the hair on the base of your head to be lower down your neck then the hair on the top of your head. It should be all the same length, or close to it.....very normal.: Hey everyone!
2. As for as life, give it time and it will have all the life you can handle. So much life in fact, that you will be restraining it with hair ties when the wind gives it that extra life we seem to fight all the time LOL.
3. And for the parting, it is completely up to you. It is not going to hurt your hair now, or have negative effects later, if you let your hair part by nature, or part it to your liking.
Hang in there and feel free to post any concerns.

Thanks for your speedy response!
OK, that has put at rest some of my concerns. So basically, when my hair grows more, it will develop life? The reason I'm particularily concerned with that is because my hair is quite fine and absolutly lifeless at the moment and I really would like to give it life, but if it will get that in time then that's fine! So even lifeless hair will gain life with length?
Yes, shorter hair can't really move around a lot, but once it gets longer it'll blow in the wind, move around while you walk, etc.
Keep it growing!
The length difference is perfectly normal, it'll even itself out when it gets longer. It'll gain more life as it gets longer, no worries:). As for parts, do it whichever way you think looks best.
Best of luck!!!
