I probably didn't explain this well enough on my last Thread, and it's so far down the board that I'm not sure if anyone would see if I wrote a new reply there so I'll start a new Thread. Sorry if this is the wrong thing to do!
OK, first off, thanks for everyones replies in my last Thread! The one thing which I probably didn't explain well enough was if there was a way to get volume in my hair. See, it moves and flows and all that easy enough now, as I've been growing it for a little while already, but my hair is very fine and has absolutly no volume naturally to it. It lies flat. Is there a way to give it the kind of volume that David Lee Roth or Paul Stanley or any of those rockstars have? I like that look and would like it for myself but I'm not sure what to do to get it like that!
Thanks very much for any replies!
Don't tease your hair up. That is way too damaging. You didn't mention if your hair is really straight or a little wavy or what. If it's really straight, you'll have a hard time getting volume. Most guys with volumey hair would love to have your problem.
If you've got a little wave in your hair, adding some mousse then blow drying on low heat and using a round styling brush to create volume will work like Farrah Fawcett and all that bunch used to do back in the 70's for example. If you've got the really straight hair where any curling by drying or curlers falls out of pretty quickly, get some non-alcohol hair spray to finish it.
It don't do any of this since I have curly hair, but I saw my sisters do it a million times back in the 80's and early 90's when big hair was really in. They also used to roll their hair in large rollers then shake it all out and spray it a lot.
Thanks for your reply!
Alright, I'll try some of your suggestions! I have straight hair, by the way...
Thanks again!
As a general rule, you will get more replies if you provide a picture of yourself, and you'll get more if the picture shows up in your message without clicking, than if the reader has to go elsewhere to see it. Readers are motivated to comment on something they can SEE.
As for your concerns, straight hair is going to look limp and curly is going to look "big". Everyone seems to want some other guy's hair, but most of us look better just going with what we have, especially if routines to change your hair damage it, and most do! Be careful! Long hair takes a long time to grow, and you can create damage in one evening that will stare back at you in the mirror for a year.
