After reading all the posts here about the 'haircut reserves' site, I popped over to it and was pretty appalled to see a lot of the regulars here trying to rile up the buzzboys. Why not just live and let live? It's blatantly obvious that it's primarily a d/s wank site for people with a buzz fetish. Why pester them? I know, I know- their reasoning is shallow and shoddy, they have no historical perspective, etc. But realistically:
1) You aren't going to change their beliefs on the topic. In fact, you'll probably just make them more entrenched.
2) Sooner or later, some of them are probably going to start doing the same thing on this board. As some of the folks who have been here a while will remember, we've had problems with that before. (Think Cody.) Personally, I don't really care for flame wars, and besides- the owner of the board *does* have the right to dictate the content that it is used for. That's not censorship, that's private property.
3) Regarding the whole 'forced haircut' issue: it's a fantasy, not reality. With not a whole lot of looking, you can find boards devoted entirely to nonconsensual BDSM fantasies, rape/snuff fantasies, etc.- in the big scheme of things, their little fantasies are really pretty tame. And, just as with the other varieties above, it's perfectly fine- so long as they stay fantasies. And if they don't, then it becomes the province of the criminal justice system, and hopefully the perpetrator will get all the free haircuts he wants- in prison.
So, basically, what I'm saying is- maybe all the people having fun baiting the buzzboys should take a deep breath or ten, decide to live and let live, and leave the wannabes on the Mach3 board to their fantasies.

Yes, I truly agree with you. From their ~~efficient~~ deletion of whatever mails with alternative views, it really serve no purpose in posting anything from us.
Dear longhairs, read the board for entertainment if you want to and do not waste time posting anything on it. Perhaps, just by reading their extremist view would further broaden our mind and hearts :)
Cheers,
jin
I just posted three messages over there and two were deleted.
I didn't attack or even use profanity. I just pointed out that they should respect people as individuals regardless of how they wear their hair.
also, I did mention that many of the drug users that I have seen have had very short haircuts including buzzed and that is no lie.
I tried to be polite and debate them without stepping on any toes, but they don't seem very open, or even friendly.
in fact It comes across as a very hostile environment even though I pointed out that I had worn a Flattop a few years back.
incidentally, there were some recognizable photos that I've seen on this site that I believe the Webmaster of this board posted at one time or the other that belong to the Long haired site. I suggest that he take a look, because there are some disparaging remarks in the caption.
here is the link that I am referring to:
http://www.geocities.com/haircut_rules/exhibit3.html
there are others as well.

Hasn't anyone heard of viewer discretion? I took a short look at the haircut rules and seen enough.
I don't know why people are attracted to that #*%&@*. The attraction must be real, because the same type of stuff is on TV--it's just a little more subtle. I tried watching about 5 minutes of TV the other night and nothing has changed. The viewers keep watching it, else it wouldn't be there. Outlawing it won't work because viewers would just tune out and use their own efforts to create more extreme *&^%*. Knowing that people seek &@%#% in media and computer games gives me doubts about human nature. If human kind will be extinct 1000 or so years from now, maybe it was meant to be. If a good god is out there, I think he gave up on the human species.
i agree with you- ALMOST 100%...
originally the site advocated forced haircuts & even instructed how to do them (wait 'till the person is sleeping...). that is assault; fantasy or not, SOME nutcase will take it seriously and actually carry it out on someone. that would be a bona fide criminal case not only would the copycat 'nutcase' be guilty, but the author of the offending site and its host (yahoo geocities) would be responsible. i registered a complaint w/yahoo geocities and encouraged others to do likewise.
i do not advocate baiting them on their board- that would be lowering myself to their level.
True. That it is, almost.
I also have to say though, that baiting them with messages that point out the absurdity of their positions and do so without calling them any nasty names is kind of fun.
Yes, I know, it is a cheap and easy kind of fun. Kind of like having that cafe mocha -with the cream AND the chocolate shavings on top! Yeah, it's tasty but only for a short while!

yes... it is fun- but a dangerous brand of fun. the narrowest of those minds would not be able to appreciate the subtleties of your game and we wouldn't want a flame war- would we? i guess it's a good thing some messages are deleted so quickly- before many of the lower mentalities can read & react to them- i'm sure victor appreciates not having to babysit the results of that one.
True enough. While I do like to drop some zingers once in a while for the good discussion it generates, if there is no good discussion generated then I lose interest. I think the whole buzzcutboyz thing is at that point.

I agree, which is why I never bothered to post anything on that site. I know what responses I would've gotten, followed by the deletion of the post. It would be the equvalent to talking to a brick wall. Nothing remotely intelligent would come of it. - Reinhart
Yeah, I've said it b4- it's not a fasion site; it's a subtle gay site for guys who think Freddy Mercury and Rob Halford are the best singers in Rock.
