All the best Jonny H uk
Short time lurker, new poster here...
Looks great, nice books too!
I would trim the beard just a teeny bit to square it off and bevel the edges.
Long time poster here...
As the North East wind has blown today. Your right a great and the beard looks fine to me and we all have over own opinions.
John.B
And my opinion is the same as yours, John. Pete, it's great! LONG beards, like long hair, don't have the glued on yuppie look that short hair has. Long beards look a bit different every time you look in the mirror; this is part of their character, not something to be trimmed off! How many of us have, in our first months of growing long hair, trimmed off hair, puzzled at its "unruliness", when in fact we later learned that long hair is not going to just lie there the exact same way all the time! The solution if you want it to be neat at the moment is to comb it.
Maybe Pete's beard needs to be combed (if he's about to walk into a more formal setting), but it sure doesn't cry for a trim!
Bill
hey guys, thanks for the discussion of my beard. I appreciate the feedback -- both suggestive and supportive.
To be honest, unlike a lot of guys here, I'm not concerned with my hair and beard looking perfect. In fact, I rather like the wildness of it. For me, if I wanted to look groomed, I wouldn't want long hair.
Hey brother: We need to start calling you "Grizz!" Remember Grizzly Adams? I think he must still be around somewhere? Anyway, the beard is superb: I like it much better long than groomed: I'd grow mine out like that it I had the ba**s! And the hair is an institution in itself; long and flowing as it should be. You da' man: Bruce'ster
Thanks, Bruce!
Try growing your beard longer! At the end of the day, I enjoy it, I get random compliments on the street, and the few complaints are from people who are clueless.
Wow, great photo and a wonderful beard.
Mouse
now that is my kind of gray spring day
you are looking good there!
Hey, has anyone ever told you that you bear a striking resemblance to a younger version Henry Wadsworth Longfellow?
Awesome beard too!
Already a painter,
- painting's the life,
The artist - the maker,
Order from chaos and strife-
Could you be a poet-
And just don't know it?
What the Greeks call
"to poein" in all,
you may possess -
creation without duress.
Hi Pete,
Your hair & beard combo look absolutely STUNNING!!!
I fantasize about growing my beard long; but have yet to get past the "bushy" stage. Your salt & pepper coloring is so striking to look at! My beard, on the other hand, is totally white (even though I still have a lot of natural blonde left in my head hair). The few times my beard has gotten long-ish, everybody starts making comments about how I'd make a good "Santa". YUK. Then when I look in the mirror, I think I look more like a perverted Santa Claus (lol)!!
- Ken
Perverted Santa sounds good to me, Ken!
Thanks for the kind remarks.
Excellent, wild and natural.
