Hello Everyone,
Six months after a radio show (Tendences October 27 2006) on Radio Canada states that long hair is popular amongst university students in Montreal, a local Daily, called La Presse, prints a tabloid-style article naming a new fashion "critter" that will "replace" the metrosexual and the ubersexual: The Heteropolitan Man.
This critter is supposed to be a "real man" with manly values (Like in the 1940's), sporting hair that is short on the back and sides, and the fauxhawk (YUK!!!) or gelled spikes. (These styles have been around for years, nothing new to me)
Later it states that "very long hair" is out of style, and hair is worn no longer than mid-length (According to author of article - touching the top of the ear).
In the end the article contradicts itself by saying that "Beatles haircuts" will return in the fall.
I usually get a good laugh at those who write about trends. A smart guy doesn't follow trends, he simply makes his own trends.
I sent a letter to the editor saying what I think, and stating that I have long hair since 1979 and never changed my style because I like it that way.
Have a nice day,
Georges in Montreal.

Styles and trends are funny things. Some people listen to the "professionals," spend tons of money and/or time trying to follow the "rules," become slaves to the industry, and then wonder why they can't seem to grasp their own identities.
Very strange.
