I've browsed that site. That site has failed to persuade me to cut my hair. In fact, it's made me more determined to grow it out as those guys have a ridiculously narrow, and disturbingly irrational, viewpoint. It's their opinion, yes, but I question their values as they seem highly discriminating, prejudiced even. I want to try something different, as well as the fact that I think I may look good with long hair. Besides, I think I look like a dork with short hair. Seeing my picture of myself a few years back, I hated how I looked with short hair, especially when I had a buzz cut before. Better to look "like a girlie" than to look like an idiot. This is how I feel in my heart, or, as those "force short hair on all men" bitchers would say, in my guts. - Reinhart
I could care less if some idiotic Buzzboy thinks I look like a woman.
What about the photos of the Men with Long hair with derogatory captions? Have you seen those?
I would be willing to bet that those were used without permission.
the point is that they have crossed way over the line and should be reported and even shut down in my book!
Burke
True, and, in my original post, I want long hair because I've always thought I looked like a dork with short hair, particularly buzzcuts. "Better to look like a girlie than to look like an idiot." This reminds me of a picture of a person whos hair was removed through CG manipulation. Looking at the picture side by side, the person with the long hair actually looked cool. The person with the bald head, on the other hand, reminded me of someone who looked like a dufus.
Yes, I have. Appalling at the very least.
Probably also true. What they've done could also be grounds for slander at the very least.
Let them be assholes. They are entitled to their own opinion. However, I am concerned about what they actually advocate, despite their rather lame "We do not advocate forced haircuts" claim.
All the best. Take care. - Reinhart
Careful! I like long hair myself, but please don't offend the shorthairs;¬)
In case my post is misunderstood, no insult intened. My intention was that I, and the photo of the gentleman with the long hair, looks better with long hair than a buzzcut. There are people, however, that do tend to look alright either way. How they choose to wear their hair is their decision. I decided that I want my hair long, and the rather boastful nature of the Haircut Reserves has furthered my determination even more. - Reinhart
That's why I've been frequenting LongHair HyperBoard for almost three years!
Be careful what you wish for, you might just get it. If everyone starts rigidly enforcing use policies (which are currently pretty lax on the net), a whole lot of the net would be effectively shut down, most likely including a fair amount of sites you like, not just ones you find objectionable.
As per my moniker, it is obvious I am a fan of the shaved head for men. Interestingly enough, I also like long hair on men. I suppose many from the haircut reserves would consider me a sell out, but I really don't care. It is true that many guys fantasize about forceably cutting the hair off of a long hair, but most realize this is pure fantasy. Believe it or not, this is a fantasy for many long hairs themselves, however. (They secretly fantasize about a forceful man tying them up and shaving all their hair off.) I do not condone this activity (if it is really against the person's will) and truthfully it would turn me off to know that a man was having his hair cut completely against his will. Except for enlistees in the military, of course. They know this is going to happen before they even sign the papers to enlist.
My point? Live and let live!
Well said. - Reinhart
Dear Humans who have open minds:
First, someone should notify groups, like Hate Watch about this site.
Second, send a message to the web hosting company that hosts this site and tell them to close it down, fast!
Third, all the long hair men should be notified that their images are bring viciously rediculed. In your letter, suggest that a libel lawsuit should close this site for good.
May the length and style of your hair hair always be of your own choice.
Multi HMX-12
Hatewatch's site is temporarily down and will not be back up until July 9th.
as soon as they are I will bring this site to their attention.
hopefully others on this board will follow similar suit.
I have already suggested this and have emailed geocities.
I have already brought this up at least twice(see ATTENTION WEBMASTER)
two images were pulled because it was discovered that they had copyrights
In your letter, suggest that a libel lawsuit should close this site for good.
whoever the images belong to should do this.
what bothers me is that some of the images may not belong to anyone on this board and no one may know the Men in these pictures, so the perpetrators will continue to use them until the copyright holder comes forth.
If anything has persuaded me to finally grow my hair long it was that bigotted and intolerant site. I am determine never to go into a barbershop ever again!!
Folks!
Listen to yourselves!
You are behaving like you are scared and insecure about yourselves! You are also seeking to deny the rights of others in such a way that it could come back to haunt us all!
I have posted this before but let me say it again - CHILL OUT! All these calls to "shut down" the buzzcut site are way out of line. First off they have now posted a disclaimer stating that they do not advocate forcible haircutting. Yeah, it is pretty lame and yes, it only appeared there after some of Longhairs raised a stink. But it is there now!
Secondly, what they are all about and what they discuss on their forum is well within their rights of free speech. If they want to be narrowminded, juvenile, and deliberately offensive in their thoughts then so be it. If they simply want to echo their weak and insecure views to each other than they should be free to do so.
This doesn't mean that their site and their opinions aren't offensive or their comments aren't derogatory. We don't have to like what they are or what they say in order for them to enjoy their rights. Remember, there are plenty of other people out there who find what we are and what we do to be equally offensive.
The points about the unauthorized use of photos lifted from this site are valid however and those should be addressed.
Shy of that though, I can not and will not support any calls to shut down their site simply because they espouse an offensive point of view.
We should be secure enough with ourselves and who we are as Longhaired men that we can see the buzzcut boyz and their site for the limited thing it is. There is no need to over-react and try and deny them their legitimate free speech rights simply because they are succeeding in being deliberately offensive.
Chill out, take a breath, and let's move on to other things!

Dear long haired boys and men:
I'll let Edmund Burke, Albert Einstein, and Haile Selassie make my case for closing down the bigots' site.
By the way, I am happy, and have no regrets, that I helped closed down a site that advocated assault on other humans.
Moreover, I do not "deny the rights of others," but try to prevent the incident that was described in the CNN Spin Room article, where a men was given a haircut when he was sleeping, then when he got up, realised what happened, and put the vandal in the ER!
Next, according the bigots own rules, Albert Einstein and the current Japanese prime minster would be targeted for assault and vandalism! These two men wear their hair in styles the bigots don't approve of.
Lastly, if someone dislikes my Hawaiian shirt, does that give them the right to advocate that my shirt be forcibly cut off from my body?
Read the quotes below and understand!
Multi HMX-12
"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."
-Edmund Burke
"The world is a dangerous place to live, not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don't do anything about it."
-Albert Einstein
"Throughout history, it has been the inaction of those who could have acted; the indifference of those who should have known better; the silence of the voice of justice when it mattered most; that has made it possible for evil to triumph."
-Haile Selassie
Obviously, anyone who advocates forced haircuts (e.g. on prisoners) would defend a forced-haircut site! (Believe-it-or-not, I got along with the man [that you responded to] very well last February by e-mail, and it is hoped that friendship with him will be restored, even if we disagree with him on several issues including law-and-order and forced haircuts!)
Good! I liked these much better than "Wherever you go, there you are" and "You Gotta Start Somewhere."
The Rules For Being Human
1) You will receive a body. You may like it or hate it, but it's the only thing you are sure to keep for the rest of your life.
2) You will learn lessons. You are enrolled in a full-time informal school called life on planet earth. Every person or incident is the Universal Teacher.
3) There are no mistakes, only lessons. Growth is a process of experimentation. "Failures" are as much a part of the process as "success."
4) A lesson is repeated until learned. It is presented to you in various forms until you learn it - then you can go to the next lesson.
5) If you don't learn easy lessons, they get harder. External problems are a precise reflection of your internal state. When you clear inner obstructions, your outside world changes. Pain is how the universe gets your attention.
6) You will know you've learned a lesson when your actions change. Wisdom is practice. A little of something is better than a lot of nothing.
7) "There" is no better than "here." When your "there" becomes a "here" you will simply obtain another "there" that again looks better than "here."
8) Others are only mirrors of you. You cannot love or hate something about another unless it reflects something you love or hate in yourself.
9) Your life is up to you. Life provides the canvas; you do the painting. Take charge of your life - or someone else will.
10) You always get what you want. Your subconscious rightfully determines what energies, experiences, and people you attract - therefore, the only foolproof way to know what you want is to see what you have. There are no victims, only students.
11) There is no right or wrong, but there are consequences. Moralizing doesn't help. Judgments only hold the patterns in place. Just do your best.
12) Your answers lie inside you. Children need guidance from others; as we mature, we trust our hearts, where the Laws of Spirit are written. You know more than you have heard or read or been told. All you need to do is to look, listen, and trust.
13) You will forget all this.
14) You can remember any time you wish.
Dear Humans:
I have no problems with people who advocate "Short Hair Pride." There is a Crew Cut Club in my home city and have no problems with these people. They are mostly retired men who don't, as far as I know, force their lifestyle upon anyone else.
I may be offended by people who say that they don't like men with long hair; however, they do have a right to say that.
I do have a problem with bigots who advocate forcing boys and men into cutting their hair.
Advocating assault and battery, with a deadly weapon, (A felony) is just wrong.
Would you be tolerant of a site that advocates that obese citizens be forced into slimming down?
Would you be tolerant of a site that advocates that Buddhists and Wiccas be forced into becoming Christians?
Lastly, I have nothing but good feelings that I, and many other thinking humans have closed down a site of Intolerance and Fear of people who are slightly different.
I am not apologetic to these Hate-Mongers and never will be!
If closing this site has prevented just one boy or man from getting a forced haircut, (perhaps a clipped ear as well), then we have done a very good thing for everyone!
May the length and style of your hair always be of your own choice.
Multi HMX-12
P.S.: Reinhart, you have the right way to see our world and the right way to fight for our rights!
ok guys, the on-going discussions regarding "haircut reserves" should be terminated upon the termination of their site (and also their yahoo club).
Let's move on with our own business, that is, LONG HAIR :))
Yeesh! All I did was post that the Haircut Reserves reinforced my determination to grow my hair out. I didn't expect this to start into a little flame. Like Madoc said, let's get some order back here. Let those guys be asses. - Reinhart
This is my arguement with the short hair sites: I think they're covertly GAY BDSM. I viewed the hyperboard of one and there were a lot of gay postings. I'm not slamming gays; I'm saying: "Don't vail a butch Gay site as a paramilitary site". It's contrived and an insult to our Armed Forces. At least to the Straights in our Military.
Ragnar,
What ARE you talking about? Are you equating short hair with being gay? Are you saying that anyone who advocates short hair is gay? Are you saying that short hair gays are into SM? Are you saying that gay short hairs and into SM and the military? You are being pretty unclear and at the same time managing to be pretty insulting to boot.
Please make yourself clearer.
Madoc
Naw, what I'm saying is that the one I stumbled onto was a site dedicated to Military-style cuts. The home page shows a guy in olive drab with a High and Tight from several angles. As you click deeper into the site, referance is made to haircut "parties" where guys give one another consentual buzz cuts. There is no mention of forcibly cutting off long hair w/out consent. However when you get to their hyperboard, their is mention of "horny Seargent" wanting to shave a younger guy's whole body clean, not just his scalp. A submissive type posted a fantasy about wanting to be tied down and shaved...for starts...I'm not even gonna mention what he invisions having done to him next. It was definately well beyond a site dedicated to Military grooming; this was gay stuff you didn't see comming when you go to the home page.
Ragnar,
>It was definately well beyond a site dedicated to Military grooming;
>this was gay stuff you didn't see comming when you go to the home page.
Uh, OK. And how does this relate to your first post?
You found a short hair site that turned out to be a gay porn site. OK, there are a lot of those. How does that relate to what goes on here? How does that relate to short haired men? How does that relate to the military? How does that relate to SM?
Still looking for you to clear things up.
Madoc
whether or not that type of posting goes on in those discussion boards is completely beside the point. our only credible objections to such site can only be where they threaten in a tangible way our right to exist as ourselves and where our images (likenesses) were used to further their agenda. to bring up that kind of information (that you 'dug up') and use it to slam any other group of people can only serve to divide this community.
