Hey Guys,
Just wondering how some of you comb your hair while it's wet, comb it back or comb it to the desired style. I have been combing it back and then comb it in the middle and wait and wait for it to dry.
I was looking very close to my hair and have seen some shorter length in some spots, what does that mean, did it break off? I have never used any holding, hairspray, gel..ect products for my hair, I never blow dry either.
Most longhairs that I know simply comb their hair back, and let it part naturally (which, because of the weight of long hair, tends to most naturally part in the middle). This is what I do, at least!
The shorter hairs that you describe are most likely the new hairs coming in. If you go to the Links section, click on and read Bill Choissers, "On Being A Longhair". There's plenty of helpful info in there that explain how long hair naturally behaves & grows, as well as other cool stuff... Enjoy!

Thanks Urban, always a pleasure reading your advice.
I find combing mine into what it would look like naturally if I just left it makes it dry faster, and for some reason it looks and feels better for it.
I don't think the shorter hairs are broken; they're probably new hairs altogether.
It varies from person to person.
My hair is wavy and moderately thick. I wait until my hair is completely dry before I comb it. I fingercomb as much as I can first, then I use a comb, starting by combing from near the ends, then working my way up.
If I'm short on time, I just fingercomb. I never comb without fingercombing first.
I do not comb my hair while it's wet and do not recommend to, although it's not deadly.
