A long time ago I read a story about a man who was angry with someone. He let this anger fester, always fuming about what this person had done to him. One day a friend of this man came to him and said, "If you're so angry with him, then why do you give him control your life?" Upon hearing this, the man realized that he was not in control of his own life if he let his anger control him.
My point in telling this story is, look who is controlling this board right now. Scroll down the list and see how many posts are expressions of outrage, anger or disbelief about **someone else's board**! It seems to me that the fellow who runs the Haircut Reserves board has won control of this board without firing a shot. Yes, if it's not a troll board, he would appear narrow-minded, bigoted, etc. If it is a troll board, it's working very well. Either way, he is exercising his right to free speech, as are we. To quote Voltaire, "I do not agree with what you have to say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it." If he infringes copyright, report him. If he encourages violence, report him. Otherwise, ignore him!
As my daughter used to say, let's build a bridge and get over it, shall we?

In an attempt to get back on topic, is there any way to lighten hair a shade once it has been colored too dark? I attempted coloring mine in a vain attempt to eradicate gray, but ended up a shade too dark. Any suggestions?
Scott (of the long hair)
Scott,
I agree with you 100%, however the point is that some individuals photos have been used without permission and include disparaging comments.
personally, how a Man, or Woman wears their hair is their business.
however when bigots try to force their views on others, post inflamatory statements it is time to take action!

By applying a haircolor shade that is as many levels lighter than its original color as its present color is darker, your hair could be returned to it natural color (minus the grey). But I advise you employ a professional colorist for best results--and be prepared for extra conditioning your hair as it will feel like straw.
You say your hair is a shade darker than you want. If it is only ONE shade (level) darker, your hair will probably lose a level after several shampoos (especially if you used a non-professional tint.)
If after a few shampoos, you still do not like the color of your hair you should go to a color specialist. It will probably be expensive, but you will be better off with a specialist than with just any salon. (They can possibly make your hair much worse.) There is no color that will lighten hair once a tint has already been imparted into the hair shaft. The colorist will have to remove the tint from your hair and then apply the appropriate color and filler that is always necessary for a re-tint. Good luck.
