Please excuse the off topic post.
I was just reading the post about the petition in England
when I noticed on Internet Explorer 7 you can't just
copy a URL into to browser window like you did before.
So how do I got to the URL he refernced without having
to type it in manually?
I can't believe they took cut and paste out of IE7.
I should have stuck with IE6.
Win XP Pro, Celeron, 512K memory,
60 gig hd, Zonealarm 4.5.538.000, Norton Antivirus 2005.
You should download Firefox :-)
And GNU/Linux! :-)
Tried to downloading Firefox, something in my security settings
woun't allow me to. I have no clue what it is. Tried a
number of things. Nothing works, it still says my security settings won't allow it.
Finally gave up on IE7, got rid of it and went back to IE6.
Its not a problem here with IE7, although I do recommend Firefox. It seems that your problem lies elsewhere. From where do you copy your URL?
From this board in the post for England that I referred to
earlier.
I was going to try firefox until some of the flaws strted to
show up on it.
It should work for you. I have xp home on one machine and xp pro on another, both ie7. If your xp version was an upgrade and not a full version then there maybe a querk in the install. I've done many upgrades, some clean, some with odd problems that I had to find a solution for. That's why I like the full versions best, no conversion crap.

It's an upgrade. Was Windows 98SE. (Yes I'm one of
those poor slobs who was still using 98SE).
I've also noticed I can't get the start up screen to appear
in Outlook Express 6 (it does read email, but won't show
the start up screen.), and I can't install the Google Toolbar.
Also some pages won't display.
I haven't had those problems but I've had others. Not that I'm recommending this, but this what I had to do. First this only worked because I had the windows 98se disk. I backed up my data, reformated the hard drive, reinstalled 98se, then reinstalled xp upgrade. Lastly I restored my data. It's easier if you have a second hard drive to migrate your data to. Again I don't recommend this unless your proficient with computers. It's frustrating and a lot of things can screw up.
