How long did it take before the awkward stage ended for you?
I'm only at 8 months so it's really not even in full force yet -- I've got the flipped out ends for sure though.
I have a question. My "flippy ends" are at my collar in the back. As all the hair catches up to that length, will it ALL flip out, or just the bottom layer of it? I'm hoping it doesn't all do that!
So, how long did the stage last for you before it was smooth(er) and straight(er)? My guess is about 24 months, so I'm getting near halfway there, at least.
Thoughts?
I'm also at 8 months now (Just under). I found that as the back of my hair got longer it flipped less but the front got curlier. I think your hair will straighten out as it grows. I read that by 1,5 years you should be nearing the end of the awkward stage you are going through.
Hey there!
To me it took about 20 months to get past the awkward stage. BUT, as my hair is wavy, I had a second awkward stage, where my hair flipped on my shoulders, which was over by the 26th month or so...
Good luck!
Hey, KDM. At eight months, I was going through the same thing. I am currently at 16 months and my hair has settled down(FINALLY!!) I suggest you tough it out or Grow some rhino skin(Thanks Bruce for that cool phrase) and wait. In the end, You will realize it was certainly worth the wait! Good luck pal
Actually there are really two, the 1st being the worst for most guys. Pretty close to two years for the 1st. Then a sudden flip-up of the ends after 24+ months which comes as a surprise. But this phase doesn't last all that long. By the 3rd year you are WELL established for good.
About 2 years for me 12 to 24 months was the worst but many years later you forget about it.
trust me it's worth it
