hey.... I'm growing out my hair right now, not sure how long my target is... but a major problem I'm having is keeping my hair from getting dry and frizzy like. all my life I've shampooed it once a day... never really used a seperate conditioner.... within the last month or two, upon looking for a solution, I've started conditioning it and such, and trying only washing it with shampoo every few days... but it still frizzes out in daily conditions... let alone any day it's humid...
anyone have any solutions or ideas on how to... erhm... make my hair not go poofy/frizzy?
also, does anyone know of a good website for hairstyle ideas for hair about my length?
here's a picture of about how long it is right now... http://www.netcom.com/~heckfire/vacation.jpg
thanks

Barton,
You could try the routine that I've been practicing:
During Shampooing:
Use a small amount of shampoo (just the size of a quarter when spread out on your palm, will do). Wash you SCALP, NOT your HAIR, that is because, Sodium/Ammonium Laureth Sulfate (the primary clensing agent in shampoos) could dry your hair severely!
During Conditioning:
Bring a comb with you. Apply conditioner liberally throughout scalp and comb through. Leave in for a while and then rinse as usual.
After all these, try to apply some leave-in conditioner to control you unruly frizz.
Also note that, based on your hair length, you need only to shampoo EVERY OTHER DAY. If it gets longer, you could extend the interval to once every three days.
Cheers,
Jin
My suggestion, (from a female perspective), is gel. I have the same problem, I wash my hair everyday but I use a MOISTURIZING shampoo and conditioner. You could also use a LEAVE IN conditioner that could help to control the frizz, but for the most part, after I wash and condition, I use a small amount of gel (too much will give you that "wet look") and then blow dry, If you don't want to blow dry your hair, comb it a few times in order to distribute the gel.
Best of luck
