Alright, not that many questions :P
Basically, I've always been a meduim haired person, but I decided 4 months ago to grow long hair. However my hair was styled for someone with meduim hair, as it grew out it became very unprportional. (hair near my ears grew to the bottom of it, but other hair on the side did not come close :P ) In other words, it was a failure.
I'm going to get a haircut or a Trim, whatever is needed to make my hair grow out long, with the best proportions and the least awkwardness, which I know the awkward stage may be inevitable but still. :P
Basically, when you started growing your hair long how long was your side in proportion to your bangs, and back hair? I want to know so that way, I can ask for a good amount cut off so it grows out properly, or at the very least have an idea of what I'm in for when I get my haircut. :*(
First off, I clicked on the link that you included at the bottom; but what came up only confused me... was there supposed to be pics there? I even did a search for "Will", but couldn't find anything other than info on wills & testaments...
It could be just me: I'm pretty computer-stupid; but that issue aside, here's an answer or 2...
I recommend a slight trim over a "haircut", --- the slighter, the better! If you want your hair to grow out looooooong, cutting it at all will only delay the process. I totally understand, though, you wanting "the best proportions and the least awkwardness", since that describes how I myself felt during my first time going through that stage. If you feel you absolutely can't stand the current look of your hair, and that you MUST re-style it a bit in order to emotionally endure right now, I understand. So, go ahead & trim; but seriously, the more you can think in terms of trimming and re-shaping your hair just a teeny-tiny bit, instead of in any big way, the sooner you'll get through this awkward stage.

Haha, there wasn't suppose to be a link. I'm just new to this kind of forum format, and had no idea what some of the bars wanted me to write...I suppose I got confused. :P
Anyways, yeah I'm going to take your advice. Get a trim to even it up some, and then just hold out until the awkward phase is over. Thanks,
Will.
No problem, I removed the link, since it was triggering pop up ads to appear.

"Will" probably has a virus infection. There is a virus that puts spam links into one's web board posts. If you use a word that has commercial possibilities, it will add links to web sites that sell that stuff. The most notorious one is called "serverlogic3".
If a user is found to have that virus, the moderation crew will ask that he remove it before posting further. It is likely it will infect others who click on the links that it makes.

Supposedly, hair stylists know how to cut the hair to let hair grow long. I asked my hair stylist back in February to cut my hair so that I could grow my hair long. Not sure if she gave me the right cut though...
So my advice would be to go to a haircut person for girls because somehow girls get haircuts and styles so that they can go from short to long to short to medium to long to whatever. That's my usual thing: if the girls figure out how to do it, we can figure it out as well--hair is hair.
