I have grown a ponytail which only has the back part of my hair but it is 3 or 4 inches (4 inch longest strands and 3 inch for about 75 percent of strands). I tried an interesting idea and folded it over and put another hair tie on it to hold it. It is basically the same as a bight in a rope (similar to a loop except non-crossing....basically a folded rope end). Let me know what you think. Pic attached and second pic in second message.
It looks rather disturbing, actually. I think it would look better in straight pony.
For comparison, here is the straight ponytail which is right now fanning out.
P.S. A girl told me today that I have gorgeous hair. This was right after another girl kept insisting I would look more handsome and cute with short hair. Another victory after another roadblock.
Maybe disturbing was too strong a word, but my first impression of it was that it just looked kind of messy. I think the pony looks better.
Some girls like it and some don't, it's hard to figure them out sometimes.
I like the ponytail better as well. The bight perhaps is something different and unique and not something "feminine". Basically, I cannot make a bun yet and the bight is basically a bun with really short long hair. Messy is a function of being new to long hair and not having a lot of mirrors around.
Contra Vegas, I like it and often use it. I do not like "pony tails," and use a variety of solutions to fold up my hair when it shold not be loose, and I want to look more formal. Granted this one was very casual and practical, but I like the idea. What is disturbing about it? Only Vegas can say.
