Earlier this month, as some of you may recall, I got a trim. Third one in 44 months. In a bold move, I asked the stylist to "even out" my hair at the back so that it was all one length (as opposed to a "V" shape as it grew naturally).
That was a good idea. Although I whimpered a bit at the amount of hair he'd have to cut off (in retrospect, probably 2 or 3 inches), it was worth it. In the past, nobody ever noticed my trims except me. The goal of my trim two years ago was to get as little taken off as possible - just to remove any damaged hair. And that's what I got. This time I gave the stylist a bit more free reign. Several people have noticed and made positive comments - including... my mother of all people!
So guys, if you have a bit of length, are feeling bold and aren't afraid to lose a few inches, it's worth doing. My hair grows slowly, but I'm pleased with the "sacrifice." In my case, my hair looks a lot neater this way and will probably keep it this way.

its good to hear you are pleased with your trim and that others are too=)

Thanks! I didn't think a trim would do so much good. It got rid of a few split ends, and by having it all one length, looks much tidier on me now. Although, if people are noticing, I guess a fair bit of hair must have come off...
