I am very content with my longhair (About chin length and and curly) but i have been having a problem. I keep getting mistaken for a woman (particularly by old ladies :) ) The problem lies in the fact that I am 15 and do not have the ability to grow facial hair so I currently have no way of remedying this gender-bender! Are there any longhair techniques to make me appear more masculine?
there's not a whole lot you can do... perhaps you can take up bodybuilding as a hobby- but by the time that starts yielding results you'll likely be showing facial hair. be patient with those who make the honest mistake and ignore those who are busting on you.
If you don't already, it might help a little to tight it back in a ponytail. Maybe it's just me, but I think that hair framing the face looks at least a little more feminine than tied back.
It's ok David.
Me too, gets mistaken for a lady VERY FREQUENTLY. My most common encounter is in the gents' restroom. This happens usually when I'm washing my hands, with my hair loose, back to the entrance. Guys just walk in, pause, double check the sign at the door, and walk in hesitantly, looking confused :)
I occasionally hear direct blurts of, "Hey, this is gents, ladies the other room!"
And my reply? "Yes I know, thanks for the information, anyway."
You might find me a bit wierd but I love confusing these people. This shows that I've got such beautiful hair so as to be mistaken for a pretty young lady ;)
Take heart.
I like being mistaken for a woman. It means that my hair is getting to be the way that I have always wanted it to be!
Have you ever noticed how women are less concerned about being mistaken for men than men for women? It all comes back to men seeing women as somehow inferior-- a cultural problem that seems to slowly be eroding. Look at all the crap women go through in our society. As a whole they put up with it incredibly well. I'm never ashamed to be momentarily mistaken for one. Don't worry about this. I doesn't have to be your problem. You know who you are and that's what counts.
First of all; long hair on men is getting more and more attractive to girls and women so keep it. A smart way to look masculine is to increase your musclevolume by correct nutrition and bodybuilding. And start wearing shorts, if you are 15 you've probably begun to grow hair on the legs - show it!

Cut off your hair :)
