I have been considering experimenting with parting my hair on the side after having it center parted for most of the time I was growing it out. It seemed the common way to do it so I fell into that way too. But seeing a few posts on here from people who dont center part made me curious what I would look like with a side part.
You guys can help me decide if a side part looks ok on me and which side to part it on :)
This is me now with the normal center part
Hey chris!! it's hard to choose...all three pics look so good..and your hair is looking great, honest!
I wasn't of much help but it's really hard to decide..sorry about that. Hugs
Del
I'd say your left side looks better. Don't know why, but I like it more. =) Lookin' great, Chris!

Hi Chris,
As always, your extremly fast growing hair looks superb whichever way you part it, nothing can change that.
Of the two side parts, I prefer the one where most of your hair is on the right side, with the hair actually parted on the left side of your face. I am probably biased, however, as that is the way I used to wear my hair.
The centre part is definitely the more "traditional" long haired look, I switched to a centre part myself about two months ago, and think it looks better, especially with the full beard I now have. It also tends to hide the slight recession I have at the temples better. As for yourself, you will most certainly never have to worry about MPB at any time, so that is not an issue for you.
I'm sorry I'm not a lot of help here, simply because your hair looks so good no matter how you wear it.
All the best,
David
I wonder should I even bother with a side part at all or leave it as is. Three possibilities...
Rich
I know I won't be much help because you're hair is fantastic, so it doesn't really matter how you part it. If, and that's a big IF, push comes to shove I would say go with the part where it covers your left eye. Sorry I couldn't help much buddy.

Hey there Chris, I don't know if you've ever heard of this but it makes for an interesting read: http://www.truemirror.com/hp/hpttmc.asp
"...A left hair part draws unconscious attention to the activities that are controlled by the left hemisphere of the brain, i.e. activities traditionally attributed to masculinity. A right hair part draws unconscious attention to the activities that are controlled by the right hemisphere of the brain, i.e. activities traditionally attributed to femininity.
A man who parts his hair on the right, and who is striving for positive assessment in a traditionally male role is at risk for having difficulties in interpersonal relationships, since he is sending a mixed, subconscious message by emphasizing the activities of the brain traditionally attributed to femininity.
A woman who parts her hair on the left, and who is striving for positive assessment in a traditionally male role (for example, in business or politics) will be taken more seriously than a woman with a right part, who is emphasizing mental processes that are traditionally attributed to femininity."
Whether or nor you attach any credibility to this is your call, but even without this article I think the left side looks cool.
Hi Chad, don't think I have run into you before here, I have been offline a lot lately though :)
That is an interesting theory, and it does seem as though most men do part their hair on the left side. I guess they do it because their elders do it. I doubt many people even know the brain has two hemispheres lol
It is interesting theory, I will have to pay attention to where most men part their hair now lol
Hair falling over an eye has a coy, sexy look on many guys and it does on you! I like the look. However, maintaining a side part is an uphill battle with a heavy mane. Long manes conspire with gravity to want to part in the middle, and most longhairs have middle parts because of that.
Bill
Hey Chris,
With hair as good as yours, all the looks are cool. Having said that, I still prefer the center part.
Jason
Hi Chris great to see you back online again and I certainly hope you are feeling much better. As for you question on the part issue I'd say they all look cool on you. That said you could alternate the part everyday just to keep them guessing!LOL. Just some poor attempt at some humor. My take would be to stick with the center as you can't go wrong with that.Mark
Honestly, I think it looks great parted any way of the 3 and suggest that you change it around when ever the mood strikes you. =o)
Found the right/left part theroy interesting...I've always parted my hair on the right (because of a widow's peak)and have always been told by hairdressers that I was parting it on the "wrong" side. lol I personally don't think it matters. =o)
I like the center part best. I too have experimented in the same way. I think side parts look better when the hair is shoulder length or shorter. Also i've noticed that side parts are better for people that have larger foreheads (like myself lol) since they cover it up a bit. that's my take on it, i'd go for the center part, but do whatever you like best because that's what matters most.
I used to part down the right, but my hair got long enough that the lift in my bangs kept collapsing under the weight of my hair. I've been parting down the middle ever since. Most people who part down the middle don't do so for stylistic reasons. It's a practical matter.
Chris,
Your hair is tops. It is entirely up to you. It seems that the advantage of the center part is that you can wear it down without getting in your face. But if you are pulling it back loosly, it does not matter where you part it.
Why keep it always the same? The qestion is whether you want it loose, want it tied back, or like it covering one eye.
Hair is fun. Play with it.
Hey
Chris
OK Ive looked at all your other pictures and in my opinion Id choose the centre over the other pictures it suits you more in my opinion ! Gee your hair as got very long to :-)
Axel
Hi Chris, you have absolutely beautiful hair, and it grows fast. Long hair usually falls in a natural part near the center all by itself. My opinion is that your hair looks best in its natural state, parted near the center. I am sure others here will disagree with me and that is OK, this is a survey, after all.
Absalom
Just like me, you have the grey streak dead center. The side parts hide it well, so much that I might try it myself! It's all good, so I'd keep changing it up!
Lon
Hey Chris
Are you EVER lucky. Every single photo (no matter what you do with your hair) is a success. I like all the ways you have shown, and that's the beauty of having long hair. Believe me, your long hair is especially super astonishing! Yikes........I can't choose the best. Better leave that up to you.
One that I really like that happens to me sometimes when I wake up in the morning is a non-defined side part.(Really neat.) Trouble is I don't know how to do it myself. It just happens every now and then. Guess I'll just have to sleep on it. LOL
What an inspiration these photos are. Pure dynamite!
All the best -
Justin~
I quite like the middle parting.
The left side part (where it falls over your right eye), and/or the center part, are BOTH my favorites!
You are so lucky you can have such versatility. I sweep my hair back and/or center part, only because I have some degree of a receding hairline at my temples, and side parts no longer look good on me (boo hoo hoo). I used to side-part (on the left), when I was younger. I miss it! And I've seen plenty of longhairs who also side-part and then put their hair in a tail that way, --- looks really cool!
I'd say: have FUN with it (and vary the "menu"!!!
- Ken
Thanks to everyone who posted to compliment me on my hair and give me their input to the question I asked. In general it seems that you guys agree with what I was thinking too. I like the center part but on occasion I would like to try the part over the left eye, that seemed to be the side part of choice.
I will have to experiment but I can certainly wear it on the side if the hair is in a loose tail, and I am wondering if I can get away with it loose. The bangs to the right would probably get in the way unless I tucked them behind my ears.
I will have to play with this and let you all know how it goes.
Thanks again for the warm comments and the opinions, they both mean a lot to me.
Take care guys,
Chris
Hi Chris
I've experimented with side parts and as my hairline is high it didn't work for me. on you I think in the middle looks good and your hair being as long as it is may not want to part on the side.
I vote middle but am curious to see the result
Kevin
